Do these athletes get paid to be or win their respective Olympic sport? I know the endorsements would be rolling in, but do they get paid for being there without the sponsors?

Not officially, but some countries give "bonuses" to athletes who win medals. Tough break for the Russian team. They were capable of better. *edit* But yay for Shen and Zhao! I've been following them since '98. They are such a great team!

Some countries essentially do. I believe China is one in particular that the government is highly involved in supporting athletes. And, of course, those with sponsor deals probably get hefty bonuses for winning.

And America chokes big time. Missed the shot in the first end, and never really recovered.

OK...the TSN commentators are basically treating the USA-Suiss hockey game as your standard NHL game. Is that good or bad?

US Women Curling loses in a nail biter to Japan. That was a fun game to watch. I want more Curling as oppose to Ice Dancing. Ick.

OK, this surely isn't a coincidence. Johnny Weir did his piece and was quite good, as usual. What is the music they play over the announcing thing as he leaves. Poker Face. Hmmm...
