Well, this was right after Mark Henry returned.
I wouldn't be surprised if he did something so stupid.

Michael Cole's whole career could be looked at as a brain explosion.

Greg Valentine and Ronnie Garvin trying several times to pin each other in a submission match. After the tenth time it got old. Didn't stop them from doing it another like 200 times.

Randy Savage jumping over the top rope in the '92 Rumble, then trying to pin Yoko the next year.

Somebody queue up the Sid asking JR for another take only for JR to tell him they are currently live.

A little excerpt from The Death of WCW (great, great book, by the way ;D):
"In one of those only-in-WCW moments of unintentional comedy, the announcers made mention that in the new WCW, there were going to be real winners and losers because the refs weren't going to be calling for DQs. This comment was immediately followed by three DQs in a row."
No, it's not WWE, but it IS a brain explosion of epic proportions.

Matt Hardy turning face with not much explanation after:
- Attacking Jeff in a hotel stairway - Running Jeff's car off the road - Burning Jeff's house down - Killing Jeff's dog

Rikishi's "I did it for the Rock"
May not be WWE but, Dean Malenko in that catch-as-can match. Or something along that line.

Didn't Hulk Hogan once win a strap match by pinfall with a submission move?

That reminds me of all the weird errors and DQ's that the refs started making when the dictum came down in WWE that they were going to let the refs call more of the matches naturally instead of relying on the orders coming through their earpieces. The result: Scott Armstrong looks like the worse ref who ever called a match. And non-WWE related, the Catch As Catch Can match that Dean Malenko had against Billy Kidman where Malenko left the ring and was immediately disqualified under the rules of the match is probably the biggest brain explosion ever. The fact that it was his last WCW match makes it even worse.

I missed Smackdown for a few weeks and returned to find a face Matt Hardy. To this day, I still can't fathom what he could have done in such a short amount of time to atone for all of that.

He said "My bad" and bought Jeff an ice cream.

How about all the times in a battle royal that somebody gorilla presses his opponent over his head and rather than tossing him out he slams him in the ring.

Didn't Hulk Hogan once win a strap match by pinfall with a submission move? Not only that but he did it by pinning Ric Flair, who wasn't even his opponent. Then he touched the four corners and won again.
