I think your first clue is that he claimed to get the pics on his cellphone developed... I hope Jake is trolling.... Bigfoot, Nessie and Elves are totally legit compared to ghosts. I don't believe in it at all but my sister's entire family see and hear some messed up stuff at their house. So I tend to just keep my mouth shut on the matter. Of course my family believes in some really stupid shit. However my sister isn't the type who lies, and some of the stuff she says is hard to say was imagined, so I have a hard time doubting her.

I dont believe in aliens, bigfoot, loch ness, abominable snowman, or ghosts... for the first 23 years of my life. I have to see something to believe it and trust me im a believer now.
But i honestly do feel that 98% of paranormal activity can be explained away. And i understand the skeptics point of view because i said the same thing for ages.
I used to be such a skeptic that i thought when you die they put you in a six foot hole and you rot away. But now i believe there is something more after this life, And im still very skeptical when it comes to most "paranormal activity" anyways.

No ghosts, just superstition, fear and trickery.

That is so fake.
As someone who believes in ghosts and is terrified of them, that picture made me laugh.

Fake, but that was for the 'ghosts arent real' reason. I believed in them for a long time, but with so many public frauds dealing with the dead (Ghosthunters, Crossing Over) that ts soured me.

I'm not going to pretend I know everything that exists, that'd be silly. But I believe in the power of the human mind to justify things we're not used to seeing or hearing as paranormal or supernatural, and I believe in the power of the human mind to turn old stories and legends into beliefs because of it. I'm skeptical of any ghost stories because of how many blatant hoaxes there have been, or just flat out exaggerations of mundane things as ghosts.
I've seen things I couldn't immediately explain, things I would have sworn by, that turned out to be just that.
On a side note, the Loch Ness Monster has totally been debunked, unless it's a creature not made of matter and thus can't be seen with sonar.

About 10 years ago, give or take, I was alone in my house. (my roommates had gone on a trip, but I had work obligations so I had to stay behind.) It was just me and the cat. It was nice.
I'm lying on the couch, watching a video (before the DVD boom) and petting the cat as he lies on my stomach. I heard footsteps up in the attic, but thought nothing of it, since it was an old house and sometimes they make weird noises. (for the record, none of the current occupants had been in the attic since we moved in.) But then, about a minute later, a glass that I had left on the counter - far enough from the ledge so that, if the cat decided to crawl around the kitchen, it wouldn't be easily knocked over - fell to the floor, shattering, and scaring the shit out of both me and the cat.
Then I heard footsteps in the attic again.
I was on no drugs, the movie wasn't "spooky" in any way, and every living, mobile thing in the house was accounted for.
Ghosts exist, no doubt in my mind. But not in that picture.

This seems a pertinent addition to the conversation. Heavy language warning: I am stunned that grown, presumably well adjusted individuals could believe in ghosts. Really? Ghosts? Wow. Just wow. I'm stunned that grown, presumably well-adjusted individuals could be so foolishly arrogant as to believe they know all the mysteries of the universe.

It's fake. The easiest way to tell it's a fake is because......there's no such thing as ghosts. Start there and then work your way towards Photoshop and other manipulation. This is circular, a priori reasoning, and it's perhaps the king of all logical fallacies.

I think your first clue is that he claimed to get the pics on his cellphone developed... Actually, that is possible. Most place have machine you can put an SD card in and have the photo on there printed out by pros. Granted developed isn't the right word for it but, if I turned in some photos to a place like that to get made, I would probably say developed as well. That said, I don't buy that the pic in question isn't shopped.

Did it ever happen again or was it a one time thing?

The only people who I've seen assert that ghosts definitely do exist are those who have had personal experiences, and why shouldn't they? They have their own empirical evidence after all. Like the saying goes, seeing is believing. They've seen, they believe. You haven't seen, you don't believe. I'll take the opinions of the enlightened over the unenlightened every day of the week, which is why I tend to side with those who have had experiences and not the dogmatic skeptics who arrogantly insist such experiences were delusions.
