US actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have been arrested on outstanding warrants, authorities said

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife turned up to court two weeks late and were arrested on outstanding warrants, authorities said.

Quaid and his wife, Evi, were ordered to be held on $100,000 bail and told to return for a court hearing on Wednesday, Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter confirmed.

The couple have repeatedly failed to show up in a Santa Barbara court for hearings in a felony case alleging that they defrauded an inn out of more than $10,000.

They have pleaded not guilty, and their attorney has said the money has been repaid and the Quaids hope to resolve the case.

But the couple's repeated missed appearances cost them $40,000 in bail that they forfeited after missing an April 12 hearing.

Warrants for the Quaids' arrest were issued after they also failed to show up the following day.

The couple's attorney, Robert Sanger, did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.

Randy Quaid is best-known for supporting roles in films such as Independence Day and National Lampoon's Vacation, and is the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid.

A criminal complaint alleges the couple used an invalid credit card to defraud the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito of more than $10,000.
