Bonus points if you picked him or her up.

I've never seen a hitchhiker.
But I'd only pick one up if I saw him carrying a weapon. Someone so upfront about having something to kill you with couldn't POSSIBLY be dangerous.

I've never seen a hitchhiker. How is this possible? Some days I see three or four.

Yep! Only once.
It was St. Patricks day and I was driving through my *small* town, ended up seeing this guy that I drove past previously, thought what the hell I'll pick him up.
The kicker? HE WAS IRISH.

Yes but it turned out to be my brother so I kept driving.
Oh and this one time after a show my band played the bass player and I went outside for some fresh air and these two girls came over to talk to us and tell us how much they loved our band (because they were drunk and didn't know any better) they gave us some beads. Anyway when the other two guys were ready to go we hoped in the car and they were trying to hitch a ride somewhere. We didn't pick them up by the bass player did roll down the window and yell "Hot!" at them. We laughed.

I've picked up hitchhikers before. Never had a problem, usually make for good company on longer drives.
I've also hitchhiked lots before too, it's a cost efficient (but not time efficient) way to travel. Used to do it quite regularly.

Did you ever hitchhike from Illinois to Nebraska and end up dating the daughter of the guy you rode with and living with them for about a year? If so you may be my idiot brother.
