Just listening to AJ's theme song. I can't help but think that there's something I'm missing. Granted this isn't exactly Rogers and Hammerstein stuff here, but what exactly is the intended predicate of "you are, you are" and "I am, I am". The only thing I can possible think of is "being ready to fly". But I'm wondering if there's some reference to his "backstory" during the early years of TNA, you know, how Edge's theme song Metalingus made reference to his brand new shift from playful shenanigan-loving face to cocky heel.

I think it's pretty much always been about flying.

I've always taken it as "you are, but I AM" implying, that it's far better to be 'am' than 'you'. And yeah, that probably makes no sense.
I've always been partial to the old theme lyric of "Try and do my best to pass a test, and show respect to the other guy!", because it's not often you hear wrestling theme songs refering to their would-be opponent in a positive light. It just makes me laugh.

I thought it was "you are you, I am I" - him being unique, and all that.

It's a phenomenal reference since he's the phenomenal Aj Styles.

Although I'm not really a big fan of rap music, I do have to give props to the poetic quality of:
Flyin' hard, AJ, AKA 'Lionheart'

I thought that AJ was just obsessed with Letters.

I always thought it was "You aren't the one. I am I am." Now it makes even less sense to me. Meh, I've always hated his theme song anyway.
