So tonight is the somewhat return of the Monday Night Wars. In a "one time only but if it works out maybe more" kind of way. This much is blatantly obvious on these boards.
It feels just like the old Wars I remembered. And not in a good way.
All these rumors. Hes coming here. Hes going there. Whos backstage. Hes gonna debut. Hes gonna turn.
As memorable the MNW's were. There was so much horrible shotgun booking going on. In a day and age where things are even more short sided, this could get really sloppy.

I agree with you on all your points. As fun as the original MNW were, so much BS went down about who was goin where and what was goin on. And in the past week alone, there have been rumors about RVD, Heyman, and anyone else that isnt under contract with WWE showing up tonight. I think its ridiculous. I just want two entertaining shows that entertain me for the total five hours that I will watch. I dont care exactly who is rumored to show up, I'll just sit back and watch enjoying whomever does show up.

My biggest fear is that one day mice and spiders will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.
That and if Impact gets a crap rating the forum will get really ugly.

I loved the MNW's so if this tonight ends up like anything resembling that era, then cheers.

I just fear TNA will give up their identity trying to worry about ratings points more than wrestling with quality booking.

I just don't want all of the people that are suppose to show up on Impact tonight overshadowing the TNA mainstains like AJ Styles (TNA's World Champion for those that don't know), Samoa Joe, Daniels, Beer Money, Matt Morgan, Abyss, The Knockouts, etc.
That's the main fear I have about tonight's Impact.

The fact that all the mainstays were laid out in the back gives us all reason to worry.

I do have a fear that with Hogan and Bischoff feeling the need to bring in all those old names, that it speaks volumes about how they feel about what's currently there. I hope I'm wrong on that but I guess we'll see. Guys were getting lost in the shuffle to begin with. Bringing in 10 or so "names" from WWE/WCW will only cluster things up even more. Especially when they go back to two hours.

I have no idea who this AJ Styl
oh wait, that guy that defeated Kurt Angle in the main event?
ahh right.
Anyway yeah, i agree with the OP. Although i definitely welcome any sort of Monday Night War, i do hope the booking can remain steady and somewat long sighted. Not that the booking over the last 8-9 years has really been long sighted anyway.

It was a cluter fest at three hours today with all the new guys, imagine the fun of it being back to 2 hours? I predict, there will be some cuts in talen made to make room for the salary for Hardy, Nasty, Val, OJ, and especially Flair.
Anyone want to start a thread on who might get cut in the next couple of month?

My biggest fear is that Impact will begin to resemble the show I saw tonight which was like a Nitro in 1999 instead of the show I liked which, to me, reminded me of RAW in 1998.

AJ Styles got put over to look like the best wrestler in the world last night. It's clear Bischoff and Hogan love him the way Hogan has been talking about Styles in interviews.
Yes, a lot of the stuff focused on the surprises last night, but it was fun.. and it's supposed to get the casual viewer interested.
