Breaking News: Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore Sign With TNA Wrestling
In one of the most shocking things I've heard in a while, it seems that Jeff Hardy has signed a tentative deal with TNA Wrestling. His buddy Shannon Moore signed as well, and they are said to be coming in as a tag team called Enigmadness, but I'd venture to say there will be singles competition for Hardy aswell.
According to Matt Hardy on the Hardy Show, Jeff failed a drug test about two weeks before he and CM Punk had their match at Summerslam, which gave Jeff his third strike in the WWE. The WWE didn't release Hardy at the time because he was going to be leaving anyway, so there was no reason to do so.
For those of you who don't know, if one has their third strike in the WWE you must be released from the company and stay unemployeed by them for at least 1 year according to the WWE's Wellness Policy.
To put it in a nutshell, once he signed back with the WWE he'd be released because of the Wellness Policy rules. Three strikes you're out, of course.
Basically Hardy could just go to TNA Wrestling for a year, then return to the WWE when his TNA deal is up. Both he and Moore's deal is said to be for one year.
Jeff's friend Gregory "Hurricane" Helms had the idea, which is actually smart if you ask me. It keeps him in the limelight a while, then he is able to come back to the WWE when the WWE rules allow him to do so.
Hardy and Moore met with Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan, and Eric Bischoff about coming in at some point within the last few days, and they both agreed to the deal about one hour ago.
Now comes the part you probably all want to know, when we will see Hardy? I wouldn't throw out seeing him tonight since he is supposed to be there tonight anyway and has signed a deal with them. Maybe an appearance would be something possible to see, but wrestling is unlikely.
This is big news for TNA, as they probably signed the hottest free agent on the market. Hardy being there will hopefully increase ratings for them. And with him being an even bigger star now than when he was last in TNA Wrestling, it's only a matter of time before we see him main eventing.
There are many big names rumored to be coming in tonight, besides Hardy. So this could be a big night in ratings for TNA. I personally guarantee this is a night not-to-miss. If you can't see it live, TiVo or DVR it, or watch the replay Thursday. Of course everyone at the water cooler would have already seen the show before then, so don't be left out.
RAW is a not miss either, as there are many big things planned there aswell. This is no longer a football night ladies and gentleman, this is now a wrestling night! The true winners here are the fans like everyone is saying, because we are finally starting to get pumped about wrestling again. It's about time.
