Not too bad a song but there definately was more worthy winners.
My favorite Turkey came in second. Very nice as it's an alternative to the typical Eurovision stuff. And they had a sweet kick ass stageshow.
Another favorite was Denmark, which had a strong outing at first but then fell victim to the usual 'former eastern block countries voting for eachothers crappy songs' schtick.
We Norwegians came in 20th, not much as a surprise as our singer sucked.

France and Moldova were both quite frankly amazing...
Germany was a fairly acceptable winner. I'd wager that maNga being pretty big stars across Europe prior to the tournament was a big part of their coming second, but I'm glad Lena won as it's a good pop song.
We in the UK came dead last. Not surprising really- the 10th rate Pete Waterman cast off of a song sounded truly awful on first listen, and the performance tonight was no improvement. Plus his voice didn't hold up on the night. Oh well...always next year.

This is the contest that Lordi won right? That's the one yes. And it's one of the TV highlights of the year.

Once again I'm annoyed with the Eurovision winner. Though in the last few years where I've thought there was one or two better songs and the winner was at least a contender, Germany wasn't even in my top 10. Denmark for that matter should have been down at the bottom with us (We did deserve to be there though)
Belgium, Turkey, Bosnia, France, Greece and hell, even Lithuania who didn't even make it to the finals were far superior to Germanys very very very bland song. There were a few others that while I wouldn't have liked them to win,
I'm not saying Germany was bad as such. But when I first heard it I just shrugged, figured they weren't going to get far due to it being a boring generic run of the mill song that was going to finish mid table. Even when she came on with Mr Norton saying how she was a bookies favorite, I still didn't buy into the hype and figured they must have expected more from her.
I'm still scratching my head that not only did Germany win, but they won by such a freaking large margin. There was nothing outright great or even good about the song. For lack of a better description it was just... there.

I wanted Turkey or Romania to win, as they both rip off Muse. Germany was a good winner, though.
The UK really need to be serious about this, or pull out.

I just stopped by a forum that had a Eurovision finale thread. 3200 replies in four and a half hours.
Love the guy who breached security and jumped on stage and joined in on one of the acts.

i think the only reason germany won, was that the song is ALREADY popular in europe
and the UK "song" deserved everything it got

the goodthing this year was the fact that Gratham Noton was getting drunker as it got on, at one point I think he said "the best wayto enjoy this song is to have a glass in your hand that has a ll umbrella in it"
and his synopsis of some of the others
"A cheese nightmare" Mldova
"If you see a drunk fce down in the gutter singing this song.it'll probably be me" Russias song
i love how the French one is also the world cup song..waste not want not
Denmarks was lovely song..Belguim getting quite high..to quote the Miz really? REALLY?
though nothing wil EVER beat Terry Wogans commentry of the cntest..his best ever put down was Bosnias entry in 2008 "3 brides of frankenstien and a looney with a clotheline" youtube it.. trust me

The UK really need to be serious about this, or pull out. Dude, the UK could put out the freaking Spice Girls at their peak singing Wannabe and they'd still come where they finished tonight. Stone Motherless Last, it's why I don't watch Eurovision any more, if you're not from Eastern Europe there's no point showing up

Last year we got a good singer (Jade Ewen) who could perform well, promoted the hell out of it across Europe (with writer Andrew Lloyd Webber) and at least tried to do better than we normally do. The result was we got 170 points and finished fifth, a huge improvement on last night's fiasco. Now if only we could combine all that with a song which can get some genuine traction before the event by being a hit before the contest, then the UK could still win, no doubt.

So after a strong showing last year it's back to a bit of normality for the U.K. To be honest I'm not sure why we even compete, does anybody in the U.K. really take this seriously, everyone knows this competetion is just there for a laugh.

Thankgod we won! Germany didn´t win since 1982 so I was very happy last night and everyone was celebrating in the city.
BTW: Last year Lena was a normal girl and got through a casting which was called "Our star for oslo" which she won. So its kinda awesome

This year's Eurovision got the lowest UK ratings in history. Then again, for parts of it, it was up against Britain's Got Talent.

I missed the middle of the show so didn;t see Germany's song, so when I heard it at the end I was really surprised to hear it. The melody was nothing fantastic and her singing wasn't great (though I put that down to more shock/emotion causing her not to be at her best) By the way, was I the only one who thought that she sounded REALLY Australian when she was singing? This is all I know about Eurovision: Should've won the whole damn thing. you better not be taking the piss, that puppet is a national treasure here!

Since Wogan stopped doing the commentary, I couldn't care less about it. I never really cared about the show when he was doing it, like most people in the UK, I only watched it to hear Wogan get drunker as the night went on. Which shows, that since he's left, the ratings are at their lowest point.

He said his country's last win was actually the day he was born (and I know he was born in the 70's) and that over the last decade or so they've been pretty much sending lesser known acts into the competition as it seemed like Eastern Europe was constantly winning.

Line of the night, on Spain: The man has been taken into custody now. Hopefully along with Spains costume designer. Denmarks was lovely song..Belguim getting quite high..to quote the Miz really? REALLY? Can't disagree more. I was thinking Me and My Guitar was going to pull it off and run away with it. The best thing Germany did on this show was giving the Belgiums 12 points. The worst thing the UK did was giving them nothing. Denmark on the other hand, well, I clearly was watching a different show from the rest of Europe as he started the song off completly out of tune and even when the woman started to sing she couldn't save it just from how dull it was. That was one of the worst songs this whole year. The fact they finished 4th, well above acts that could have easilly won it is more of a joke then Germany winning by more then 70 points.

1. Germany is not in Eastern Europe
2. We didn´t win since 1982
3. the "Balkan States" were always winning because they were voting themselfs. And that hasn´t been the case for a a while.
Someone is bitter that they didn´t do so well this year lol
