A few months ago I posted about how I'd been offered a shot to referee for a local wrestling organization here in Memphis. I asked people their advice, and I took it all to heart, and now I've gotten quite a bit of quick experience under my built. I couldn't find the thread quickly so I wanted to post to thank all of you Crappers for the kind words and the help, I'm doing what I love. I may not be a wrestler like I wanted to be when i was 6 years old and first got into the idea of pro wrestling, but I'm close enough that I'm ecstatic. I never would've chased the dream unless you Crappers had supported me. Thanks to every one of you, my life has never been better. If anyone in the midsouth area wants to come to a show, I'll give you directions. It's not Lawler's Memphis Wrestling, but imo the talent is blowing them away, and our TV deal kicks in January 16th. Thanks again to all of you for telling me to pursue this dream.

oh yeah being a tna or wwe ref is indeed the dream. I'm still quite green but I'm doing my best, maybe I'll end up there but for now I'm happy with where I'm at.

Congratulations!!!!!!!! I wanted to be a wrestler too since I was little. But neck problems put a stop to that. I'm trying to get my foot in the door as a TNA employee so keep your fingers crossed for me as well guys.

Awesome news, Have you refereed for any significant wrestler's matches? Just curious on who you've may have met or even ref'ed for.
Keep it up and maybe one day, it'll be you we'll be cursing out for screwing over one of our favorite wrestlers. Lol

My spine has been fused and I had rods in up until this past summer when they had to be taken out due to rejection. I'm still hoping one day to be affliated with wrestling in some form. Congrats to the OP as well. Post some pics of yourself in action!

So, do you now have a Glass body as per the standards?

the real rule is he has til 5, but stop at 4 and pull him off ;p
i'm currently more a tweener, i turn my back for any heel tactics but I still question the bad guys on if they did something wrong. the crowd kind of hates me because i'm playing the role of 'i swear i HEARD them tag, even if i didn't see it.'
if any of you live around memphis and want a start as a ref, we only have 3, and yesterday i worked 6 matches straight because i was the only one who could make it. any Crapper who wants to ref I will teach you what I know and get you started.
I totally have a glass body, I've taken one move so far (just a basic choke out) and since then I've played the smart role, I see a monster want to beat me and I take off running up the ramp haha.
The only real notable name I've reffed is Tatt2, who is sort of big around the Memphis area. He was about to go on Hogan's aussie tour but couldn't get his visa in order.

How difficult is it typing on an online forum now that you are legally blind?

For those that missed Prophecy's original post he was a ref too, only he got into a street fight main event with one of the wrestlers........and won.......Did I mention this company went broke a short time later?

Unfortunately, going down to TN isn't exactly viable right now. Although, I may be moving there eventually, so you never know.

haha showstealer, i doubt our booker is that dumb. if i were to ever work an actual match (i've been learning to take bumps and such), i wouldn't let them put me over unless it was because another wrestler saved me a la jim ross vs triple h

Just remember this simple rule: he has til' five. And with the guy in a submission hold, you have to ask them.

Congratulations dude, i'm happy for you. I'm not a ref, but i've been working 16 months now and know the buzz you get when you step out through that curtain. I'm having troubles even being booked on shows right now, apparently because of my size (5'1, 165), i've recently found out that the guy who's been training me thinks of me as a "charity case", so i'm actually quite hurt about that, then again I don't even know if he said it, lol. Bitter ex wrestlers and that.
I'm finding out the "politics" of wrestling the hard way, watching guys with 6 months training get bigger and better opportunities than me, but that's ok, I think the only right thing to do is keep my mouth shut and keep busting my ass at training.
