AAW Heritage Title Match Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana vs. "Anarchist" Arik Cannon
Grudge Match Dan Lawrence vs. Mason Beck

i might have to go to this, i just need to check CTA and see if i can get there and back from the portage park area. whats the address to this thing? The address is 6309 W 26th Street (Berwyn, IL), the Berwyn Eagles Club. I live on the far North Side and take the CTA no problem. For me, the best route down is Brown Line to Pink Line all the way to the end of the line, and then the Cermak bus west. Then after the show I just take the Pink Line to Western and head up Western all the way home. But if you're in Portage Park...the 54 Cicero bus goes from Montrose/Cicero to 24th Place and Cicero and goes until 1am. The AAW shows generally end by a reasonable time (1045-1115, unless everything is pushed back by weather). You can easily take the 54 Cicero south to Cermak (2200 South) and then hop a 21 Cermak bus West a mile and a half to Highland. Then it's just a 4-block walk south. $15 front row/$10 GA (small venue, so GA is like, 2nd to 6th row, with a capacity of about 250). If you are of age, they serve $1 beverages. They do a 50/50 raffle. They sell pizza, candy, chips, soda, water. Cabana will surely be selling and signing things. And they also have a projector screen above the entrance on which they play promos/recaps that do a good job of summing up the angles. www.aawrestling.com if you want to see the unintentionally comedic not-very-snarly sneers of Silas Young and Jake and Dave Crist.

Might as well call this a ROH show.

Might as well call this a ROH show. A lot of names that have been in ROH, but Davey, Colt and Tyler are the only ROH regulars there. Hollister's been on one show. The HoT just got their first W three weeks ago. Jacobs has been gone since summer and he's a big-time babyface here. Silas, again, is a part-time jobber/low-card guy. The Twins haven't been booked by ROH since, what, January when almost all the non-NYC cards sucked? And how long for the Airborne or Danny Daniels? It is a pretty impressive talent list for a small Midwest indie, but what can I say? They run a professional promotion.

This is at the same venue as SHIMMER, which is a great setting for an independent wrestling event. Here's some highlights from the last AAW show there.

This is at the same venue as SHIMMER, which is a great setting for an independent wrestling event. I totally agree with this. I'd much rather be in a cramped, packed building with 250 in attendance than a comparatively huge gym or fieldhouse with 500 people that are spread out or have tons of space all around them. The smaller venue makes it easier to stay involved, to communicate, and to feel like the event is big. And the Eagles Club specifically is a good experience, outside of the really low ceilings.

The ceiling rarely is a factor their either. I've seen plenty of shooting star presses, 450 splashes, and moonsaults off the top rope in the Eagles Club.

It just seems to play a more a factor for wrestlers who aren't used to the venue. They get up to the top turnbuckle and look up and don't realize that once they jump, they won't be moving up for very long at all. Now, if someone like Marshe Rockett of the Soul Touchaz was there, it could be (a 6'4" high flier).
