First of all, I know there are people here who wouldnt appriciate heel pops, ruining the fun and all that. However alot of us enjoyed wrestling the most at a time when we were encoureged to cheer who we wanted and the same old scipt was thrown out. Is it wrong now to cheer "cool" heel characters over boring cookey cutter faces just cause Vince changed his mind on the direction? And why when a heel turn face he has to loose everything which made people cheer him in the first place? A prime example being MVP, why does he have to come out smiling and so cheerfully now that he's a face? Same with Morrison. Sorry, I went off on a tangent there and I know that there are people here who would agree with me, just wanted to get it off my chest! With that being said, which are your faveorite times the heel got cheered? Two nominations from me, Angle vs Eugene at Summerslam, the commentators have little choice but to acknowledge the cheering. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZPV6leq5HEAnother, good pop for Christian here, showing how over he was getting in 05: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tukFE3WOvUw&feature=related&pos=2And of course, Mickie vs Trish at WM.

Also, Orton had several good ones after he got re injured and did his little shtick of interrupting people for a while.

Basically every time Orton has been on pay per view he's been getting huge pops.

I love how Cena, at different stages of his career, is the perfect example of a heel getting cheered like he's Jesus and a face getting boo'ed like he's Satan.

Christian obviously gets the huge reaction because he's in Canada, but this has to be my favorite moment of a heel getting a pop like that, and just an overall great reaction throughout the promo. I loved when Christian started ripping on Cena about his rapping gimmick and his CD, that promo is classic.
OH, and this was in 2005, I'm guessing around draft time since he mentions all the top guys on Smackdown. This was proving how over he was getting, and by the Summer of 2005, he was red hot, but of course WWE didn't roll with it.

Christian is one of the few guys that works great as both a heel and a face. As a face, he doesn't put on that obnoxious smiling role - he's still a bit of a jackass.
I don't think they even need to really put him in either a face or heel role. It was good for him being the leader of ECW to be a face, but now that he's on Raw I'd like to see him just be a flat out tweener. He'll get cheered either way.
But yeah, Christian's always been my favorite example of a heel getting cheered.

Dont think there's videos on youtube of em but in the Rey-Y2J series of matches last year some of the pops when Jericho got the Wall's locked in honestly sounded like a goal had gone had been scored in a football match.

Listen to the reaction at around 5:30 when he wins the belt. He also had a decent reaction when he came in and during the match. On tv you could actually hear people booing Tito, but it doesn't sound the same on YouTube.

My fave ever was probably one RAW in 05 when Christian challenged the relatively new WHC Batista on RAW. This was during the time Christian was still a heel but getting big reactions, and of course Batista was coming off his huge Mania win and the biggest face in the company ATM.
Christian got huge reactions from the UK crowd, while Batista got mostly boos. Christian even had HHH and Flair in his corner distracting and cheating for him, the two most hated heels on RAW at the time. He still got massive cheers anytime he got offense in or got an advantage.
I recall a lot of people on here at the time trying to explain it by RAW being in the UK, Bizarro Land, etc. That did not explain why Christian was still being cheered in the U.S. and Canada as well, but people will cling to anything in attempts to prove their arguments and opinions right sometimes, especially wrestling fans.
This was also the same year people said Cena was getting booed during his feud with Kurt Angle because he wasn't playing a good heel...even though Kurt never had problems getting heel heat before or since.

I was about to mention that Kurt Angle John Cena feud. This first blood match was at the absolute height of Cena hate in fact I think rather than the crowd loving Angle it is the fact that they hated Cena so much they were willing anybody on to beat him.

This was a period of time where a heel Shelton Benjamin who had been a jobber for months got huge face heat during a match with Cena, while Cena got booed. I mean, think of that. It would be like Chavo Guerrero going up against Undertaker this Friday, outpopping him during the match and Taker being booed when he goes for the Tombstone. Yet WWE kept pushing Cena. I bet even if Rob Conway fought Cena during this time he would have got face heat.
