Edge goes for spear, Jericho counters into Codebreaker.
Jericho yells "SPEAR!" and pins.
or
Edge spears Barrett through the ropes, Jericho then rolls him up for a dirty pin/Walls of Jericho.

I made this thread a few days ago. But yes Edge will win. If Jericho wins it'll prove that he had one of the most pointless forgettable title reign ever. Then again if Edge loses, he'll have one of the most pointless Rumble wins ever.
Edit: I made an epic typo on the Jericho wins part. That part should say Edge not Jericho lol

i'd rather Edge win and Batista retain persoanlly. Cena doesn't need the title. Dave can go great things with it in his current incarnation.

While not necessarily at Mania, I'd love to see a repeat of the steel plate angle with Goldberg/Hart between Jericho and Edge.
Edge keeps chanting the word, charges forward... and is knocked unconscious, while afterwards Jericho mocks him.

The only problem is it would look really suspicious that Jericho shows up in the ring in his suit when he's suppose to wrestle. Thats an obvious trap.

Let's say hypothetically Jericho wins at Mania through dubious means, comes out to brag on SD, and a pissed off Edge tries to spear him, only to get knocked out. Could do the same thing if say, Edge was wrestling someone like Barrett, Jericho interferes, and when Edge spears him... same thing as above.

Considering that Edge vs. Jericho is probably going to be somewhere in the middle of the card, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jericho retain, either by screwjob or some kind of Spear counter. Then again, Edge could win the match clean. I think this match is actually less predictable than most people are saying. Then again, if Edge wins that just means everyone will say, "See? So predictable!"
I think Undertaker beating HBK and Cena beating Batista are more likely than Edge over Jericho.

I'm hoping the whole match involves Jericho heading for the hills if he sees Edge readying his spear.

It should be since the crowd likes to do those Spear chants. When Jericho is knocked down and Edge is blatantly setting up for the spear, Jericho gets out of the ring and waits until a 9 count.
Or just wear a chest protector and do a frog splash.

I really thought everybody would have jumped on the 'Edge wins, Christian cashes in MITB afterwards' idea. Has there been much talk of that?

I've conditioned myself to assume Jericho is going to lose pretty much every match he's in but I've been thinking that it's not completely out of the question that he could win this one. My theory is: Cena beating Batista seems much more like a solid outcome, and more likely the title match that would close out the show. Since that would mean the show would end with the good guy on top, that would leave the door open for bad guy Jericho to win a bit earlier in the night. And I'm sorry, outside of the shot to the head with the belt Jericho hit on Edge on the Highlight Reel on Friday (which, as we know, Edge came back and got vengeance for on Monday) Edge has ALWAYS gotten the upper hand on Chris. The scorecard is like, 239847239847 to 1 in Edge's favor at this point. That seems a *wee* bit lopsided to me. I don't know, Jericho winning at Mania when all is said and done just seems the tiniest bit feasible. I still figure Edge will win though, because I always err on the side of safety when it comes to the outcome of Jericho matches.

I could see Jericho winning. Batista vs. Cena, MOTY Take 2, and of course the afterbirth of Montreal are getting the lions share of the focus. In the grand scheme of things, this match doesn't mean very much. Especially when you consider its probably the first match in a series of them between these two.
With that said, it wouldn't shock me if Jericho pulls this one out. People make it out as if he has zero chance of winning. If WWE is planning on ending the feud completely at Mania, sure. They rarely do that though, and I could easily see Chris retaining if they want to extend the feud.

Edge needs to win or it kills his momentum. Cena doesn't need to win because he's not rolling off on anything. If they need the face rub to close the show, make Edge vs. Jericho the headline at Mania. Or better yet, let Batista win to close Mania.

Then again if Edge loses, he'll have one of the most pointless Rumble wins ever. Yep. And Edge is a huge star who has done very well for the company, and they clearly hope he will continue to do so, which is why he'll win. This is how I feel about it. I've conditioned myself to assume Jericho is going to lose pretty much every match he's in Do you guys still not get it? Jericho claims to be the best in the world at what he does. "What he does" means putting people over. Read between the lines, people.

Edge goes for spear, Jericho counters into Codebreaker. [...] This is going to happen, but it would be more effective as a false finish. I'd love to see Edge kick out and then Jericho make him tap to an ankle lock/heel hook.

Eh, that is like saying Orton needs to win at Mania 25 to keep his momentum. He didn't. He just needed to look good against HHH instead of being largely squashed. Edge losing wouldn't kill his momentum. Cena wasted his Rumble victory by going for the title at No Way Out and failing to capture the title, then going on to challenge for it at WM and failing to win it there. Did that kill his momentum? No, because while he didn't win, he looked good in losing. As long as Jericho wins in a sneaky fashion Edge looks fine, and we all know if Jericho wins it wont be clean.

Edge has never had a significant title reign, though. He should win it as a face and actually hold onto it for a while, and Mania is just like coming full circle from returning at the Rumble. It's a great story and solidifies Edge as a face.
