I will forever maintain that the wrong man was cast in the Walking Tall remake. Let's see....big, badass redneck named Buford Pusser who runs the Mob out of his podunk little town by swinging a big ass chunk of wood and cracking skulls..... Austin was the PERFECT fit for that role. You know thinking about it, your right. Austin would have been much better in that role, but they would have had to cut out a lot of the comedic parts in it, especially Johnny Knoxvilles' character. I really don't think Austin & Knoxville would have had any chemistry on screen whatsoever.

No, but he will transition into second-banana villain roles successfully.

I think he'll make a great career as a character actor in smaller stuff, with the occasional bigger release, but I don't ever see him being an "a-list star" in the same sense that The Rock is. I love Rock/Dwayne Johnson to death, but is he really an A-lister? As for Austin, I doubt it. Unlike Dwayne, he's best at playing himself.

The Rock really isn't an A-lister since some of his movies may be considered B-movies aka Doom, The Tooth Fairy, Race to Witch Mountain. But then he's done some good reviewed movies by fans/critics like Gridiron Gang, The Rundown, & Get Smart. He's pretty much somewhere in the middle where he's respected as an actor by many, but at the same time he probably won't ever win any awards & people still associate him with wrestling more so than as an actor.

And plus, Austin could have cracked a few jokes and smiled a bit...you know, like Joe Don Baker did in the original.

Is it too late to cast him in "Zombieland II"?

Is it too late to cast him in "Zombieland II"? As much as I love Austin....if the crew go down to Texas, they MUST encounter Terry Funk. ;D

Maybe. Well it is just kicking off, but we'll probably get a good idea of the direction of Austin's acting in a year or two.
Btw, is anyone surprised of Austin being of the among billed in the Expendables?

Id love to see Austin make it big in Hollywood but I don't see it. Hopefully The Expendables will help his profile though not sure how long he's in the film. I loved him in the Condemned though.
But he's one of my top 5 wrestlers of all time so honestly thats all that really matters to me.

LIke the way Chuck Norris crossed over into TV's W:TR? Yeah, pretty much. But I think Austin should make sure if he ever does a TV show it doesn't come across as really cheesy like W:TR was. Should be something that people can watch without being almost embarassed about it. Walker had a bunch of legit die-hard fans back in the day. It took a lot of people a little while to realize just what kind of cheese they were dealing with.

I don't think he will ever make it out of DTV hell. He'll be fine though.
