Or is he destined for more of a Steven Segal type of career.
If he gets extra fame like Segal achived with Under Siege I hope he manages to capitalise on it and take it further.

I don't think he can ever get Dewayne Johnson big, but with the right hits (which probably be The Expendables) I can see him getting acting work on a regular basis.

The Expendables is good for him, but he'll be overwhelmed by all the other big names in the film. UFC didn't mention him because they wanted to put over Randy Couture.

I liked him on Nash Bridges. I think he's made to be a badass TV cop or bounty hunter or private detective.

I think he'll definitely be able to make a comfortable living doing it (not that I think he even really needs to do that, considering how much he's made, even factoring in divorces.)
But one of his best assets is that he doesn't have a problem playing the bad guy. When he was approached for The Condemned, he actually wanted Vinnie Jones's role but Vince & Co. basically turned him down.

I think it could go either way really. Right now it's looking like he'll be doing direct to dvd movies for awhile, since I mean lets be honest, his acting is pretty 1 dimensional. He doesn't have the charisma when it comes to movies like The Rock does. Being in The Expendables can't hurt, but it may not help his career any either since his performance will be overshadowed by a bunch of other guys. I think his best bet right now would to try to get some action/drama type of tv show on the USA Network if possible.

I don't think he'll be a superstar or anything. He could've been, perhaps, but he did start pretty late. That said, I definitely could see him as a solid supporting guy who can make a good living working on smaller projects.

He won't be Denzel Washington, but I could definitely see him as Denzel's friend.

If he was smart and saved his massive amounts of WWE money. His movie career wont even matter. It seems like it's something he's doing because he wants to, not because he has to.
I think he's more suited to play the loose cannon sidekick role than the leading man. Look at guys like Clint Howard how made a living off of never being the star. Austin should just focus on having fun and getting work. he doesn't need to be THE guy.

But I think Austin should make sure if he ever does a TV show it doesn't come across as really cheesy like W:TR was. Should be something that people can watch without being almost embarassed about it.

I think he'll make a great career as a character actor in smaller stuff, with the occasional bigger release, but I don't ever see him being an "a-list star" in the same sense that The Rock is.

Nah, he'll do about what he's doing now, starring roles in small movies, the occasional smaller part in bigger stuff. That's totally respectable as well.

I can see him working just as an action star and nothing more. His level of success is debatable at best because one in one hundred people actually make it in Hollywood. The industry is just like wrestling, not everyone makes it to the top.

I will forever maintain that the wrong man was cast in the Walking Tall remake.
Let's see....big, badass redneck named Buford Pusser who runs the Mob out of his podunk little town by swinging a big ass chunk of wood and cracking skulls.....
Austin was the PERFECT fit for that role.
