Ok this might piss a lot of ppl off but that's the point. Have HBK show up on RAW in a black jacket with black sunglasses. HHH meets him and is like, "Shawn, I'm sad to see you go son" and HBK is like "Go? Go where man?" and HHH laughs and says, "Still making jokes, thats why ur the man". HBK lifts his black sunglasses and smiles.
Then he walks through the lockeroom and each time anyone tries to "pay respect" to him, he either knocks them out with the sweet chin music or makes fun of them. Finally he comes face to face with Cena who now looks concerned,
Cena : Whats wrong man? I know you lost but thats no reason to go nuts.
HBK : I'm not nuts, I'm perfectly fine...*superkick*
Cena is knocked out and Vince McMahon demands an explanation from Shawn. Shawn walks out to the ring as the fans are confused. His music starts up but he screams, "CUT THAT CRAP" and walks down in silence. He gets in the ring, grabs a mic and says,
"You know, I said that if I dont beat Taker at Mania, I have no career and will retire. But guess what! I was LYING! Did you losers think you could trust me? Did my past few years of making jokes as part of DX made you think I was in this for the fans or for the passion? No, I'm here to make money and thats what I'm going to keep doing, so I aint retiring and you can KISS MY ASS!"
Cena's music hits, Cena walks out.
Cena : Shawn, Shawn Shawn. *shakes head* I am disappointed in you. When I was a kid, you was my hero. But look what you've turned into. You turned into PATHETIC. Shawn, I dont like you anymore and if you think I am going to let you lie to THESE PEOPLE and refuse to retire, then you're WRONG because I WILL RETIRE YOU MYSELF!
Cena marches down to the ring and Shawn stands like a statue. Cena gets in his face. Shawn lifts his black sunglasses, smirks and says, "Hit me...boy!"
Cena steps back, laughs, turns around and goes to hit Shawn when Shawn ducks and hits a low blow. Cena doubles over and Shawn kicks him in the face. Shawn stands over the fallen Cena to end the show!
I think a MASSIVE heel Shawn is something we would all benefit from and besides, it would be a waste for him to "retire" now while he can still go and make millions of $ for himself and the company.

No, hes retired. HBK seems like one of the few people that will actually adhere to the stipulation. That makes me sad because Wrestlemania won't quite be the same for a while....but that's just the way it is

He used to proudly declare that he would retire at 30, so it is not like he hasn't waffled on this issue.

Interesting idea. Not bad, in fact. But HBK is the wrong guy for the role, IMHO.

Problem is, he'd get too much of a face pop (like any returning wrestler) to be effectively turned heel. Plenty of older fans would cheer him beating Cena up.

I knew the forum would be full of butthurt HBK marks after Undertaker won, and they didn't disappoint. If the guy wants to take time off, then he should do it. It's not like he'll retire for good (nobody ever does), just not wrestle full time anymore.

He can do a George Costanza and come to Raw just as usual, pretending that he didn't quit.

I would prefere him to just refuse to leave. Not make an angle out of it, just for the issue to brought up and for him to dismiss it.
HBK: "Tonight I want a Title match against John Cena, I know I can beat him." Guest Host: "Okay, wait, didn't you get forced to retire?" HBK: "Why do people keep mentioning that?!" Guest Host: "Sorry, Shane. Tonight John Cheyna will defend his title against that man!" *Points* Batista: "Sweet!"
This would all culminate when Michaels handcuffs himself to the ropes, and threatens to join a wrestling revolution where the big names of wrestling are heading, and will utilise his precocious talent.
He will show up on the new season of NXT as The Rocker.
