Kane vs Chris Benoit for the WHC in early '04. The match itself was like an average midcard match, the crowd popped during the entrances but were quiet during the match and what made the match look even worse was that Triple H and HBK were on just before the main event and literally stole the show. That must have been the Raw brand. Here's what we got as SmackDown loyalists... February 14, 2004: "Road To WM XX" Tour. Big Show vs. Matt Morgan & Luther Reigns in a handicap cage match, because Kurt Angle was "injured" per storyline and "couldn't make it to the show as advertised", so Teddy Long (who was actually there) sanctioned the match. They changed the Cruiserweight title match like 7 times in the previous month and couldn't tell us Kurt wasn't coming at all, not even in his wheelchair? On the bright side, I did see a John Cena vs. Rene Dupree US title defense. (Insert your own "boner of the past" vs. "boner of the future" joke here.)

Fall of 1998. The Rock vs Vader was the main event. I think Vader was gone from the company a week or so later. It was during The Rock's mini-turn before Survivor Series. Lackluster match compounded by the fact that the match before the intermission was a good Falls Count Anywhere match between Kane and Mankind.

That's why I limited my WWF/WWE house show mentions to after the "brand extension". Before they had the first draft/split, the Main Events were actually before intermission; like 4th on the card. For example:
October 7, 2001, Valparaiso, IN:
"Main Event" was a WCW Tag title defense "rematch" (their last full night as champions before the Hardys beat them on RAW the next evening) with Booker T & Test against Kane & The Undertaker. (The team the reigning champs beat not two weeks before.) "Last Match" was Spike Dudley & Big Show vs. Hugh Morrus & The Hurricane (with Mighty Molly). Commissioner (?) Mick Foley came out, mispronounced the name of the town, announced himself as referee for the match asked kids to throw him a sock because he forgot his at home. Was kinda funny seeing about 200 dirty, smelly socks coming from all corners of the arena.

I have been to two house shows.
One was December of 2005 with John Cena vs My Olympic Hero Kurt Angle in a cage, which was actually pretty good.
And the other was way back in July of 1992 with The Undertaker beating The Berzerker & Mr. Fuji in a Handicap Match (they were subbing for Kamala). So I guess I'd hafta go with the Handicap match even though I remember it being fun.

Bob Backlund vs Doink the Clown. Backlund won via DQ when Doink sprayed him with water from his flower.

I also went to a wcw house show in 98 believe in durham NH. It was Ric Flair and I would like to think it was curt henning vs Scott Norton and Horace or somoene else from NWO jobber express.
Same year I went to an ECW house show with tommy dreamer vs someone from the Baldies. Pretty lame overall with the best match being super crazy vs Tajiri.

Shawn Michaels & Muhammed Hassan vs a fire alarm. LOL! I am intrigued so whats the story with this one? It was at a house show in 2005 in Edinburgh. (somewhere they haven't been before or since) The advertised main event was HBK vs Muhammed Hassan. Barely a minute into the match, the fire alarm went off and the arena security decided the obvious person to tell would be "that guy standing beside the ring". So Daivari runs around the ring shouting something about a bomb scare while HBK goes for a quick clothesline/Sweet Chin Music/Pin and everyone runs to the back. Turns out it was a false alarm and the show carried on (They announced Batista vs HHH and Flair earlier in the show.)

Raw brand house show in 2003, HBK and Nash vs Jericho and Orton (I think?). Flair was meant to be tagging with Orton but he arrived after the show ended.
All I remember is Michaels did most of the work. This was an international tour in Australia.

Not counting ROH shows (I suppose most of the shows now count as house shows, considering they have TV), I've only been to two house shows in my life, both WWF.
The latter one was at the Meadowlands in 1999 (I think), where the main event was WWF Champion Mankind vs. Kane. This was when Kane was unwillingly part of the Corporation, and Rock was pinned as the Corporate Champion, so Rock came down and cost Kane the title, since he wanted to beat Foley for it.
The earlier one was back in 1992, though I forget where it was; the main event was Ultimate Warrior vs. Papa Shango.
There you go.

I'll put an event I went to in June 2006 where it was Batista and Rey Mysterio vs. the Great Khali and Mark Henry. Val Venis's and Scotty Too Hotty's matches in the lower midcard had noticable bigger pops. People couldn't wait for this card to end and go home. Only thing cool was that Batista teased a heel turn by grabbing Rey's World title and holding it up, teasing Rey for about minute that he won't be giving it back. Of course that wasn't meant to be when Batista and Rey gave each other the big friend huggie wuggie to close the show.
My second worst would be a real let down. It was street fight rules bout between Randy "Macho Man" Savage and the Honky Tonk Man for the IC title back in the winter of 1988 in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. The match drew well but there wasn't much heated action. It didn't really go so hardcore(other than Savage hitting the Honky Tonky Man with hockey stick for you hockey fans, huge pop for that) and the match was short. I think Honky Tonk got the pin with his feet on the ropes.

I've never been to a house show, only PPVs and TV tapings, but the worst main event I've ever seen live is Mark Henry vs. Undertaker at Unforgiven '07. Just awful. It was Undertaker's return from being attacked by Henry and getting cashed in on by Edge a few months before that, so he got a huge pop. I have to admit that the big entrance was awesome...but it was the best part of the match.

I also went to a house show a couple of years ago that had Funaki vs Khali in a squish match. Funaki got a huge pop and the fans didnt give a crap about Khali.

I seen the same match in September of that year, just replace Batista with the Undertaker. But that was a GOOD main event, so I didn't mention it. 'Taker was an unadvertised participant, while it was Batista that was scheduled to team with Rey. My wife was one happy camper when she saw the Undertaker.

I've only ever been to three.
2004 which saw Undertaker v JBL for the WHC, but I always liked JBL and being there for the whole UT entrance made it seem better than it perhaps was.
2005. Jeff Jarrett v Rhino for some belt that was just made for 3 shows. Rhino won when some Australian Talk show host gave Jarrett the El Kabong. But I was drunk during that and had just seen AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels in a 30 minute Iron Man Match so again it didn't faze me
Nope the distinction has to go to the WWE house show I went to in 2005. John Cena and Big Show v JBL and Orlando Jordan. Put it this way, if you have a choice if you somehow get a tape of this between watching it and having your testicles ripped off by a pack of wild dogs....Look into that second, less painful option.

November 1st, 1996: The Outsiders vs. Harlem Heat for the WCW World Tag Team titles. (Back when it was revolutionary and kinda cool to be "nWo 4 Life".) Nash got Harlem Heat DQed when he used an "international object" and tucked it in Stevie Ray's tights while being pinned. Not really anything to write home about; well, except the part after the referee's decision where Booker T said (and I quote) "This city [Hammond, IN] is full of the most racist bunch of [plural form of a multi-syllabic expletive deleted] I've ever seen in my life! You can all kiss my [singular multi-syllabic expletive deleted] ass and drop dead!" Sure, Book, we cheer the nWo just because they're white, not because they're cooler. I also saw a main event where Ric Flair, Sting & Arn Anderson wrestled the Great Muta, the Dragon Master and Buzz Sawyer in a six-man match. Muta wrestled like 2 minutes and the other guys just moved like they had cement in their shoes. considering the nWo were heels I don't care why Booker accused the fans of cheering the heels but I applaud him for telling them off.

I've only been to one house show (all others were Raw or Smackdown tapings). The main event was Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle for the WHC about a few weeks after Mysterio had won it at Wrestlemania (April 2006, I think). The match was very slow-paced and made the Road Warrior Animal vs. Tatanka match earlier in the show look like a cruiserweight spotfest.
