I've considered watching this, but being a huge WCW fan and detesting the WWE's revisionist history tendencies, I'm afraid to get pissed off.
Is it an objective look with a historical viewpoint or is that just too much to expect?

Not too much of a slant. WCW was Put Over to a degree. Though it felt very basic when it came to the story of WCW post-Crockett.

If you are looking for an unbiased view on WCW and the rise and fall of. Read The Death of WCW. The DVD is ok however I found it to short and the book goes into much more detail. The book is excellent with a few minor mistakes and factual errors.

I found the documentary was pretty good. It could've done with an extra 30 minutes at least though as it's kinda half assed during the second half. It's too vague when talking about WCW's decline.
One thing I thought was a bit uncalled for though was randomly ripping in to Jeff Jarrett. It goes from talking about various problems in WCW at the time to 'Jeff Jarrett thinks he's all that, believes he can out draw anyone, is mid carder at best. What a tool!' I've always been a fan of Jarrett in WCW and WWF and thought he deserved those title runs and it was uncalled for really. Though it's obvious why WWE included it.
Other than that it's a good documentary.

It's hit or miss. I don't mind the documentary, they're definately not that biased but big pieces are missing from it and it kind of just stops near the end., this is of course is due to the Forbidden One and the fact that you can't mention the Radicalz without mentioning him. But they picked some great old school Crockett era matches. That makes it worth it alone

It's a good DVD, bot to a degree it fealt like they were too worried about it NOT being a burial DVD that it actually hurt the DVD. They put over WCW, which is good, it's not like the McMahon ass-kissing club that was the Monday Night Wars DVD, but on the other hand, they don't talk about the early babyface Hogan getting booed out of the buildings, they don't really talk about Ric Flair being treated like crap, the slow count at StarrCade 1997 and all the mess that proceeded that are not talked about, etc.
But if you're a WCW fan like me, you already know the facvts and should find the DVD enjoyable. Plus the match selection is superb!

Other than that it's a good documentary. Its funny because when I was originally writing this post, my example of the slant was how on the 4 Horsemen disk they crapped all over Jarrett. Like he was a jobber of some sort who happened to have a few angles with the 4 Horsemen. I am NOT a fan of Jarrett and hated him trying to get into the Horsemen, but they REALLY put over McMichael and you could just tell they wanted to say "Jarrett never did anything in the sport." Jarrett worked in both feds, had huge runs, and started a company that for better or for worse is the number 2 company in the US. I dont see McMichael doing any of that.

This was before Hogan sigend with WWE and around the same time the new Hogan disc was made.

I don't think they mentioned Hogan vs Sting at all. Although it was cool to see what happened at Halloween Havoc 98.
