If I'm not mistaken, that would've been the tail-end of that run for Sid, before he was brought back when the Warrior left in the summer. I could see them making him job out on the way out.

I could totally understand that, but to Bob Holly? At least give it to someone who could get a rub from it, not the guy who the next show would be losing to Fatu.

More than likely it was a DQ and ended with Sid powerbombing him to get his heat back

Sid returned in the summer of 1996 in place of the Warrior and that run ended more or less in April 1997 after he dropped the title to the Undertaker. This was the tail end of his Million Dollar Coporation run. Most likely a win for Sid followed by a powerbomb. I've seen many similar finishes.

It's funny how people are "it's gotta be a typo! a DQ at least!"
I remember seeing this result in an issue of PWI, it's legit. Sid was out. He didn't even make it to the Royal Rumble like 20 days later. Bob Holly was in that! WWE probably figured "May as well give one of our biggest underdogs an upset".
Anyway, it's just a house show.

Didn't Bob Holly also last 45 minutes in the Rumble that month?
I think around then WWF was actually considering pushing him, if not as a breakout star than at least as a reliable midcarder, like MVP these days.

I'm more astonished by the Bret/Taker vs Owen Hart and Blank Space match

Why did Sid leave around that time? I remeber him and the 123 Kid being advertised to face The Gunns at The Rumble

I'm more astonished by the Bret/Taker vs Owen Hart and Blank Space match Blank Space was a backstage politician and got released shortly after the match due to heat. Also he was criticized for his weight on air and the RSPW community blew a gasket over it.

From what i remember, Sid and 123 Kid were teaming, and Sid complained to Vince when they weren't getting the straps. Vince personally booked this match for him to lose, Sid did the job and walked out. It's been a long time, though, so I may be fudging some details (and, the details I am remembering could have very well of been newz.) Needs more squeegee.

Im surprised we never got the dream match (well, from a marks perspective at least) of Sid vs Ahmed Johnson. They didnt even get a chance to meet in the survivor series wildcard match as they were on the same team.

There's some statements online that Sid was injured in a match with Bob Holly in "Hartford, Connecticut on January 2, 1996" so it's possible that people got the city and date wrong. So he could have possibly gotten injured in the match leading to that finish
