Sid was pushed over and over as the crowd would pop big for him every time. He just had that subtle aroma of charisma that made people go nuts. He got cheered over Hogan, Bret and Michaels when he was in the ring with them. As far as I know he's the only person who could claim that.

Most over pushed wrestler thats easy I'll let you guess but I will give you a clue it one letter in the alphabet and you have too say it 3 times ;D
Another is Flair walks out on WCW in 91 and shows up with THERE BELT. Is put over everyone in the 92 Rumble as well as working with all the top guys there at the time and still an epic fail. Goes back to WCW and is still kept in its top spot then does his squash/fued with Hogan that was a bit of a flop and despite being seen as usless is still given a high spot on the card anyway.
Before coming back to the WWF sucks up to Vince and Trips rags on WCW and anyone who has heat with Vince at the time and suddenly he is a LEGEND greatest of all time etc etc.
Then he now departs from there joins Hogan and sucks up to him and is in the main event in there old men down under tour and next its down to TNA.

Certainly not.. Luger at this peak of his powers 88-91 or so drew some money in his day. To be honest, I think the American Made Lex Luger gimmick Vince shelled out to Luger wasnt half that bad either and possibly would have drawn big time had it been at a different time. People forget, Vince was indicted around this time for steroid and sex scandel allegations. WWE already had their Hulk Hogan superman run so Im not so sure they wanted another one quite so quick. Luger did the best for what he got and I think pretty reasonably successful.
You want to see overpushed look at Randy Orton. Another guy pushed for just his look.. Yet still cant cut a convincing promo to save his life as a heel. Hasnt really done anything for viewership and ratings despite how long hes been pushed on top. NOTHING!! Now much of it is his fault or the writers fauls is up for debate.
You can make an argument for Flair as well. This was getting pushed to the moon still in his mid to late 40s!!!! When he didnt have that much of an impact on the WWE (viewership whend own down in the early 90s) Comes back to WCW and gets pushed to the moon.. Again NOTHING!! THis guy was getting pushed when his prime ended a decade earlier in the 80s

Lex deserved a push, but not as much of one as he got. He wasn't terrible by a long shot, he had the look and a modicum of skill, but he never seemed to try to improve after a certain point in his career... If you saw one Lex Luger match in the mid 90s to early 2000s, you'd seen them all. I guess he knew he'd end up in the main event because he looks main event so why try harder? It's a shame really as he could be remembered as an all time great, not just Sting's shifty pal.
As far as comparing him to Masters goes it shows how unfair wrestling can be. I feel sorry for Chris, unlike Lex, he is trying to improve, he does everything asked of him including bulking up and slimming down, but his reward is a nopush and being mocked for getting skinny. I can't help but feel if Chris Masters were the son of someone famous in the 80s he'd have a fairer shot now.

Like others have said, Luger was awesome from about 87-92 but that can also be attributed to the fact that he had some really great workers to work with him, so they get some credit as well. I didn't think the American Made gimmick or whatever it's called when he was in WWF was that bad. It just went to shit when Vince didn't pull the trigger on giving him the belt. WWF was in the shits during that period. Luger as champion wasn't going to dig the hole they were in any deeper.
I've been watching some of his 1995 WCW stuff on You Tube and it's really well done and still holds in 2010. The whole "he's a bad guy, but his best friend is the franchise of the company" was done really well. Once the NWO thing exploded, Luger was ON. I remember World War 3 in 96 I believe...he took on like 5 members of the NWO and he was the only one left.

Randy Orton's still wrestling, right? Winner winner, chicken dinner. Randy Orton is proof positive that receiving the biggest rub possible can't mask a lack of main event talent.

No where near as overpushed as Goldberg. At least Brock Lesnar's instant push was more believable, didn't have a big deal made of an undefeated streak consisting of mostly jobbers, didn't have piped in chants and was a decorated amateur wrestler.

Luger deserved every push he got. He was awesome during his NWA/WCW days. He put on good matches with Sting, Muta and Ric Flair. He was super over as both a face and a heel. He was the most over face next to the Undertaker when WWF turned him back in 93 and they screwed up by not putting the title on him the guy would have took up right where Hogan left off in my opinion, he had the look, the build and support. But oh well we will never know.
As far as the late 90's injuries took their toll and you can make whatever judgments you want about the guy.
But as far as i am concerned he is nowhere near the most overpushed, because this guy drew crowds everywhere he went.

Well, injuries and old age. Gotta remember, during the height of the Monday Night Wars, he was in his 40s.

Evven though I'm a fan of his work in general, Kevin Nash. Mainly his year long WWF title reign as Diesel. He went from a midcard flunkie of Shawn Michaels to world champ overnight, at a house show.

Lex wasn't overpushed. He had problems because of his 1. Constant heel/face turns and gimmick changes 2. Motorcycle accident limiting his athleticism before he came to the WWF

Nah the guy was really over in WCW and WWF, in WWF they didn't pull the trigger on a WWE title win or a WWE tag title run with Davey Boy.
It really irritates me that people negate how over he was in both WCW and WWF, hell for awhile he was the guy in WCW to take down the nWo and even made Hogan tap out.
He was an underrated power guy, and people should watch his stuff from '89-'94 because when he chose to be he could be awesome.
This also applies to Sid, except vince put the belt on him. Hell I loved the guy's later run in WCW he was awesome. "Who did this to my CAR?!"
I'm going to go with AJ Styles. He's okay in-ring, but he's not as good as Chris Daniels, he doesn't have the mic skills of Chris Daniels, and he's not as Charismatic as Chris Daniels. But he's the one with the push. He doesn't really have that "IT" factor about him, and it's not really the push he gets. It's his look and his lack of charisma. Give Morgan, Hernandez, or Joe the same push and the crowd will more than likely take to them.
