I'm interesting Shad's heal turn too actually, though WWE continuing the random Tag Team split tradition sucks. I KNEW it'd be Cryme Tyme this year.

I didn't see Extreme Rules last year, are they specific stipulations for the matches, or all the all of the ECW anything goes variety?

Full results cleaned up
Smackdown starts with Chris Jericho coming down to the ring....mixed reaction when he cuts a great promo about keeping the World Title at WrestleMania 26. Jericho is awesome on the microphone, getting great heat from the crowd. Edge comes out to a huge pop. Edge says that he thinks he should get a rematch right now. Jericho is not taking the bait. Edge starts beating up Jericho and ripping off his clothes to reveal taped ribs. Edge then spears Jericho. Jack Swagger then comes out to cash in MITB. Swagger hit Edge with the briefcase.
1) Jack Swagger defeats Chris Jericho to win the World Heavyweight Title in short order with his gutwrench power bomb. He walks out of the ring with the world title. The crowd is stunned.
- Commercial time and Jericho is being helped from the ring. He's in shock. He starts throwing a tantrum up the ramp. The crowd is buzzing.
2) John Morrison and R Truth defeats Cryme Tyme when Morrison pins JTG with Starship Pain in about 1 minute when Shad turned on JTG. He beat up JTG pretty good. JTG gets helped to the back.
- Swagger in the back halls with World T bragging to anyone who'll listen. He has a short conversation with Shelton Benjamin pretty funny stuff. Swagger is showing some personality.
- They show an interview with Shad about it being his time, not very good.
3) Drew McIntyre defeats Matt Hardy in a non-title match. Hardy is way over. Really quick match with Drew ramming Hardy into post and DDTing him laying him out.
- Kane comes out and cuts a promo. He says he's bored and wants to take on the entire NXT roster. Several members of the NXT roster come out and attack Kane.
4) Dolph Ziggler defeats Khali with a sleeper hold.
- CM Punk comes out and cuts a promo saying he wants a re-match against Rey Mysterio. He said if he wins, Rey must join the SES and will put his hair on the line as well. On his way up the ramp, Teddy Long stops him, and makes a match tonight against him and Undertaker.
5) Beth Phoenix & Tiffany defeats Michelle McCool & Layla
- Jack Swagger cuts a promo on the 'state of the champ'. Jericho comes out and demands a rematch as does Edge. Teddy Long announces Jericho vs Edge and the winner will face Swagger at Extreme Rules.
6) Undertaker defeats CM Punk via Tombstone. Punk was distracted by Rey who came out and accepted his challenge.
- After the match Undertaker gets on the mic and says 'never mistake respect for weakness'.
7) Edge vs Chris Jericho was a no contest when Swagger got involved in the match. Teddy Long announces the title match at Extreme Rules will be a Triple Threat.

Okay, for another shot at Mysterio in the Straight Edge Society, not the mask. Good. Though dunno why they brought up the subject of Rey's hair - he doesn't have any.

I'd like to be really excited about Swagger...
but I have my doubts. The Sheamus experiment yielded mixed results, and he was at least pushed heavily prior to his title win. Maybe he'll get pushed into the stratosphere. Or maybe he'll just get a title win and be shunted back down the card.
History says either can happen.

MVP, Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Legacy et. al. are all sitting there wondering the same thing I am:
What the f***?

I loved how this news broke. It's sort of how when TMZ breaks a story on a celebrity and everyone is debating whether or not it's true, and we get excited when more legit sources report the story. Times like this are exciting.

Its Punk's hair that's on the line. Right, but in the phrasing it makes it sound like Rey's is too in addition to the Straight Edge Society stipulation.

This is just smart business sense. It's not surprising at all. You guys heard about Brisco scouting amateur wrestlers lately, right? To tell them 28-year-old Jake Hager just won their world title is probably a nice incentive to get folks recruited a little easier. Great move by WWE.

One big reason I think Swagger got the title is that he is able to get people to hate him pretty easily when given the opportunity, and there is a huge lack of top heels at the moment. Swagger's got a good look and skill in pretty much every way, so just made sense to try and give him a Sheamus-style push to see if it sticks.

Swagger's more deserving than Sheamus but not deserving enough? I love the IWC.
