Swagger's more deserving than Sheamus but not deserving enough? I love the IWC. No it's not that, it's just he was just on a bad losing streak for months and didn't look all that awesome in the MITB match and if they would've made him look like a huge threat over the next few weeks and cash in and win at Extreme Rules or the next PPV I would have been okay with it. However having do this out of the blue smells of desperation and it's tough enough for Swagger to be taken seriously with his horrid lisp but by having Swagger win like this after months of losing including to Santino it just makes Swagger look less legit than even David Arquette. And I'll say this I think Swagger has potential as a main-eventer and I like his wrestling but he's totally not ready yet and still in my opinion has a lot to prove, like why does he get the World Title for being in a spotfest match not doing anything memorable except messing up taking the briefcase down ala Mark Henry and while guys like Miz, Morrison, Bourne and Kofi who are more over don't. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Doesn't make any sense to me. While saying he looks less legit than Arquette is a stretch, this is basically it. The guy was being made a fool of at the start of the year by freaking Santino. How the WWE looked at their roster and said "He's the guy!" escapes me and it seems like they're just going for that "anything can happen!" feel and not really even getting it.

Phft I had doubts about watching Smackdown and this has confirmed it. I was pretty sure I was done with wrestling for a while but now I'm postive
Nothing against Swagger really, he's done nothing to make me care at all about him but thats just it..........I don't care

I don't know where they got this Edge vs Jericho match, it never happened tonight they announced it for next week...The main event was The Undertaker vs CM Punk.

I don't know about this. It wasn't that long ago he was jobbing to santino in under 2 minutes and now he's the world champion? Ugh..sounds terrible. On the other hand, they desperately need new stars and logically it makes a lot of sense that a very young and hungry individual like swagger wouldn't wait very long to do it. And With the MITB shot, you don't have to be good to become world champion since you can take advantage of someone when they are KO'd which any moron with no talent could do.
Pretty amazing though that in the past few months we have had the likes of sheamus as wwe champion and now swagger as the world champion.

Alright so a first hand observation from a person live watching. The crowd was awesome all night, never a dull moment. Swagger does cash in MITB and win and when he did it the crowd completely cheered like crazy but when he came out to do the State of The Champion address he got completely booed which was odd. Reading the thread I don't know how they came up with Jericho and Edge going at it for the #1 contender this week, T-Lo called it for next week and after that happened Jericho Code Breakers Edge and then Swagger gut wrench powerbombs both of them. The main even was Taker vs CM Punk with Taker going over and telling Punk "Don't confuse respect for weakness."
CM Punk was totally the best part of the show, Vegas is the best place for him to do promos, the crowd killed him about everything he said. && in the main event he sold being afraid of Taker, even jumping over the announce table.
Glad there was no Rey Mysterio the whole show and there were a few quick matches but it was to build other storylines (Cryme Tyme split up, possible McIntyre vs Hardy IC Title feud) and I don't remember seeing it but after Ziggler beat Khali, Khali announced that he was taking time off to go back home. All in all a great night of action, Superstars had a good match(Hart Dynasty vs Dudebusters), NXT was an awesome show I need to watch it on my DVR to see how it came out on TV and Smackdown was good, showing new feuds.

Well let's see, now out of the current WWE Roster, with HBK retired, ehre's all the former and current WWE and World Champions, in order of first reign, on the active roster: The Undertaker Kane Triple H The Big Show Chris Jericho Randy Orton John Cena Batista Edge Rey Mysterio The Great Khali CM Punk Sheamus Jack Swagger
So Swagger makes it even again with 14 active competitors on the WWE roster as either WWE or World Champion.

HEH!? In a match with Christian, Kane, MVP, Hardy, & Kofi Kingston were all in that match AND JACK SWAGGER IS THE ONE THEY PUSH TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!? I can not believe it. No shit the crowd was stunned. For the life of me, I can't see how putting the strap on Swagger this soon can do any good. Yeah he can wrestle a decent match, but so can Zack Ryder if he applies himself. I don't see this ending well. I can't believe they passed on Christian for Swagger. I have no faith in the WWE salvaging this.

Oh yes and I forgot the 2 best signs from tonight were an "Ask Him!" sign and three people who had signs together, one said "Parasite" one said "Sycophant" and the other said "Germ Incubator" with arrows pointing down. Honorable mention goes to "I Gambled everything away except my Smackdown Ticket" and 4 people with an "Excuse Me" sign broken down into two letter signs.

I think Swagger's got a better chance of succeeding than the likes of Carlito, Masters or Kennedy did in 2005-2006 and guys like MVP and Drew McIntyre do today, but still, I don't see this being a particularly lengthy or important title reign. Seems to have been done for the sake of a pop, if you ask me...
