I was so afraid he was going to be the first to fail when cashing in.

In hindsight we should have expected something like this to give a good enough excuse to have the MITB PPV in July.

I'm sure this wasn't a spur of the moment decision or anything, but you have to wonder how much HBK stepping down has forced their hand to attempt to make some new stars NOW. They rocketed Sheamus, now Swagger is World Champion out of no where.

Are we sure this isn't an April Fool's Day joke?

They way he did it is weird to me. I mean when Punk cashed in under similar circumstances (face takes out heel champ) he was a face so it worked but, Swagger is a heel. Just odd. Jericho as an Orton like face or maybe Edge will be a tweener, there's option in this 3 way feud that will happen with Jericho, Edge & Swagger. I'd see Jericho as the tweener, honestly.

Are we sure this isn't an April Fool's Day joke? Unless a RIDICULOUS amount of people are in on it, no, there's no way it's a joke.

Im not Swagger's 100% fan, but im ok to see someone else winning the WHC for once. As well im glad he cashed it in Smackdown rather than RAW. So let's hope Edge/Jericho feud isnt over and he could face someone else. Are we sure this isn't an April Fool's Day joke? Isn't too early for it?

hm, this is suprising but I am open for it. All i ask for from the WWE is PLEAS PLEASE PLEASE book him as a legit main event champion. Im tired of them giving the title to new guys but booking them as fluke champions like they did with Punk and Shemaus.

Once again, Edge helps someone win a world title.
Awesome!

Are we sure this isn't an April Fool's Day joke? It'd be a poor April Fools day joke considering Smackdown airs on April 2

Soapbox: Look I can't speak for everyone but I do like the fact wwe is pushing new stars and trying to produce shocking television...BUT not at the expense of the world title, in a prefect world you build up a challenger for the title and eventually he wins it.
However having green and or new wrestlers just randomly winning the belt s almost always a recipe for disaster as the fans will never buy the guy as a champion rather just a guy that fluked into it ( which i get is the whole point.
As for swagger this would of made sense when he was first drafted and was in the middle of his next big thing push, but he faded into obscurity( from what I've read he hasn't been on TV a whole bunch) and now he's randomly the champion this will be even worse if he's just a transitional champion for edge.

I'm sure this wasn't a spur of the moment decision or anything, but you have to wonder how much HBK stepping down has forced their hand to attempt to make some new stars NOW. They rocketed Sheamus, now Swagger is World Champion out of no where. This was another thought I had too. After Shawn came back, he asked "What new stars have you pushed?", and the answer was none. They'd been spinning their wheels for the longest time, too far up the Cena train to realize that he's not getting any younger and time keeps moving forward. Guys like Sheamus and Swagger, that's 2 in only 3 months. Imagine if they keep this rate up, you'd have a good crop of young former WHC/WWE champions ready to go and step up to the plate.

If this is true, Smackdown just became the best wrestling show on TV.
Well, even moreso than it already was!

Transitional champion. Orton goes to SD and takes the title at the PPV.
Jericho and Edge continue their feud without the title, which is probably a good idea. Jericho needs time off soon, and Edge is still not 100%.
