Audience doesn't give a damn about them - we all know that. Pretty much just there for the bathroom break.
But had a thought on what exactly might be the reason for that, even past the bad wrestlers and complete lack of gimmicks - that isn't slowing down the main event scene too much after all.

Anyway, something I've been considering - the heels always win.
Look at Michelle McCool - she's won basically every feud she's been in ever since turning heel (though admittedly, only one she lost as a face either was to Maryse). Gone through pretty much every popular woman around and always gets the last laugh in the end of every feud. Even in the Mickie James one other than their match at the Rumble McCool pretty much got the leg up at every opportunity and Mickie hasn't gotten a bit of vengeance for McCool taking the title. This was after spending the better part of last year beating Melina time and time again - only for Melina to run away to Raw and win a different title since she couldn't beat McCool.
Not to mention that McCool's already spent the twelth longest amount of time with the Women's Championship without even factoring in the length of her Divas reign. And even just based on her first reign she'd be fourteenth longest.
WrestleMania - despite being down an actual wrestler due toAlicia Foxx Vickie Guerrero, the heels win clean as a sheet, in the process both Mickie and Beth failing to get any vengeance whatsoever on McCool, Layla, or Guerrero.
Of course, over on Raw there's the whole thing with Maryse. Completely dominated and injured Melina in their feud, entire tournament to crown a new champion was centered around her, left Gail Kim lying two nights in a row, and ultimately got no payback whatsoever. Sure, she's lost the title now, but probably only to give her something to do before winning it back in time for Melina to return.
Yeah, didn't mean to ramble but thought I'd reinforce my point a bit. Women's division is totally overrun with Boring Invincible Heel booking, primarily because of McCool and Maryse. Even before them had stuff like Beth Phoenix bulldozing the competion, and a then-heel Melina repeatedly wiping the floor with Mickie James. Pretty much been going on for years, just McCool's made it worse.
