I guess we have Adam to thank for all these videos? Hogan vs Vince: "20 Years in the Making". That is an epic tag line right there. I know Vince and Bret had the "13 Years in the Making" tagline but 20 years is a damn long time and I don't think anything will top that, ever. And the way Mene Gene says it in the promo as well as some of the sound clips from both men, more so Vince, "...and at Wrestlemania, I'm gonna KILL IT!!!" I remember at the time WWE tried running this ".... in the making" gimmick with a lot of grudge matches around the time. Like Angle vs Eddie @ Summerslam 2004. Teddy Long said "It's 4 months in the making....". Erm, not quite the same epicness, eh?

Lonely road of faith by miles, a brief history of the company up until 2002, once Andre's face came on and the song went "and I realise one thing, how much I love you" I was choked up. Seeing the different generations all doing the same thing (face-offs, lifting the belts etc) were the highlights. The only version I can find on youtube with sound: When seeing the thread title, this is exactly the vid that came to mind. Brings tears to my eyes every single time. This being the vid that gives me goosebumps: www.dailymotion.com/video/x1zuf2_summerslam-1998-promo_sportYouTube blocked the music on there, so had to link from Daily Motion.

I'm getting all choked up here now. And you know what the best part about it is? The massive pop it gets at the end from the live crowd. You could tell that video probably got them too. Didn't The Rock claim later that the first time he saw this video and it flashed from his grandfather to his father to him that he cried? Either way, great video. I would actually love to see some more recent stuff added, just to draw upon how far WWE has come, and how alien it is (in a way) from what's come before.

If not I still got this: Forget what happened after this, but the promo for this match was AWESOME and epic. Favorite part is with Freddie Blassie when he motivates the guys and Stone Cold rushes in the Arena, its like a movie.

I'm gonna post a similar, but different Shawn/Taker promo. It's a little shorter, but it's concise, and has one of the most fitting songs ever used in a promo.
Yes.

Few performers could be better in convincing people of the reality the angle better than these two. What song is in this video, man this video is just amazing. I love everything about it.

Running Up That Hill by Placebo. Well, it's not BY Placebo, it's a cover of a Kate Bush song from the 80s. It seems that all the best Kate Bush songs are when somebody else covers them.

Foley/Rock I Quit Royal Rymble 99
The build with the music in the background was great, & the question of how Rock would make Foley quit considering the matches he had been through

On the subject of Jeff Hardy, my favorite promo of his:
Looking back on that time period, that video really shows both how much Jeff must have been in pain for all the stuff he was doing and, in character, how he could never really win the big one despite all that. Personally, I am glad that 2003 wasn't his last year in WWE, and more so that he did indeed win the big one.

The music doesn't match, in the notes you can find the song he had there originally. It was pretty moving, especially near the end. If anyone knows where I can find it with the original audio attached... I'd like that.

WWEs put out some amazing promos, and they will continue to, but I don't think they'll ever be able to top that. I've never said that about any match promo. I'll add a couple though, also involving Taker. Survivor Series 03 - Taker vs Vince - Buried Alive. The first one is kind of like a match promo, but its really just Takers video promo before the match. I think its one of his best ever. The second has the real promo in there. "...the realization is: Vincent Kennedy McMahon...is being buried alive.""There comes a time when you have to be held accountable for your actions. Even if your name...is Vince McMahon."I love both of those lines...

Without providing a video link, i remember the Triple H v Shawn Michaels Summerslam 2002 promo just before the match being one of the best video promos i have ever seen. Gave me goosebumps, as it was the first time i had ever seen HBK wrestle, and you knew from watching the promo you was going to see something special.
Its the promo that has 'Fight' by Jim Johnston as the music in the video.
