What can I say? It was a near glorious four years
From one of the greatest introductions an ECW extremist has had in many a year, straight into the greatest feud over an exhibitionist of all time, and then to the greatest extreme rules match in WWECW history tagging with Test against Sandman/Dreamer. Sadly that seemed as though that was his peak as far as WWE was concerned.
But Mike went on to have many more great feuds with big names like Rey Mysterio, Kane, CM Punk, and Finlay either losing matches against them or getting beat up by them backstage.
Mike, you gave me so many happy memories in your time with the company. All I wanted was for you to get your own chance to leave WWE, but even that was taken away from you. I feared the moment you jobbed to Finlay on Superstars out of the blue, it was going to spell the end. And you didn't even get to work your home town on a Tuesday night
I am too lost for words right now. WWE will never completely lose me as a fan, but I will find it very hard to truly love the company for some time, unless another truly special talent comes around. Some liked Mike's beard, some hated everything about Mike, but for me, there will only be one Mike Knox.

I'll remember for all his bodyslams in that one match in Philadelphia, Shawn Micheals saying "Who's this guy" after giving him the Sweet Chin Music, and his awesome beard.
Mike Knox you will be missed.

Oh ancient bearded demigod Smiter of jobbers and Curtain jerker of ECW
Thou art slain Victim of wicked fate!
She cackles at thee Humiliation and darkness Across the world
Why must titans fall And talentless Scots Live on?
When old age turns us To dust
We shall remember Until the end of time Thy proud Beard
Jutting forth from thy face Like rhino's horn
And yet we still hope For your return And valiant crushing of
Those servants of The Enemy D-Mac and Washington To dust
Oh, who am I kidding? You will be a janitor in Dixie-land Within three months

I remember sometime in the middle of last year, Knox had been disappearing from TV for weeks at a time, losing all his matches on the rare occasions that he actually got to wrestle, and was barely even mentioned by the commentators when he was in the match.
Then he appeared as part of some random tag match after a particularly long absence, and the commentators shrugged and barely acknowledged him, and I thought "Well, this is it, Knox's token final jobbing before getting released."
And then Knox did that INCREDIBLE LEAPING CROSSBODY and got a humongous pop.
Sure enough, Knox took the pin a few minutes later (who was his partner? Charlie Haas?), but I really do think that one crossbody saved him from the chopping block for several months. He appeared a bit more frequently for the next month or so, then drifted back into being little-used, and now he's finally, inevitably gone.
I really have to wonder if he was an ass backstage or something, because Knox always seemed like he had what WWE was looking for.
Ah well, we'll always have the memories.

I've known you all my life
At least that's how it seems
Never known another way
Living out on a dream
Now I know you're leaving me and I'll never understand
Before I let you walk away, I have one last demand
Tell me a lie and say that you won't go
Look in my eyes and hold me even though
I realize you had to walk away
No more yesterday
You always were my angel
Flying high above
Always looking out for me
Angel that I love
But now my dreams are fadin like age-old photographs
That hurt too much to look at now, remind us of our past
Tell me a lie and say that you won't go
Look in my eyes and hold me even though
I realize you had to walk away
No more yesterday
Maybe we could stay together
Maybe it could last forever
Maybe if you just tell me a lie
Maybe then, we'll never say goodbye

I really wish he had done more than be a jobber. Plus that was one truly amazing beard.

If ROH gets Knox over, WWE should chuck its entire writing staff off a cliff.

I feel the same way about this as when TNA dumped Daniels, neither really got a fair shake with their respective company because they didn't have "the image" mainstream wrestling wanted. Hopefully Knox will get signed by ROH and get the second chance Daniels is now.

Also, I thinks it's sucky that if the wrestler gets RELEASED they have wait 90 days to work elsewhere. WWE FIRED these people, that means they shouldn't have a f***ing say about when they go where. It's like "We don't want you...but you can't go anywhere else either till we give the okay."
