Here we try to figure what the dirt was that Funaki had on Vince and company that he used to stay employed for so long. I'm pretty sure we are all in agreement that there was SOMETHING that Funaki knew or had. I don't have any of the details, but I'm sure it has something to do with the Triple H/Falco mystery/conspiracy that has been discussed widely over the internet. Perhaps Funaki has advanced knowledge about the real causes of Falco's alleged death in 1998. He had the knowledge hidden in a secret file that Johnny Ace was finally able to get his hands on and out the door went Funaki.
Your ideas?

The boring and probably real answer might be that Japan is a big market for the WWE but now with Yoshi on the card and Inoki in the HOF (I'm assuming his induction means him and the Japanese press will shrill the WWE in that part of the world)....Funaki isn't needed anymore.
Which is a shame, as Funaki is a great seller and could take a huge kicking from anyone to make them look awesome......would rather Funaki took the beatings from Shemas than Evan Borne (who a few years in the future might be a threat to the main eventers, rather than Funaki who was and seemed to be happy with being an enternal jobber)....

I suspect some trickery on Funaki's part. I think he switched contracts or something and tricked Vince into signing a contract guaranteed through 2010. Probably back in '98 or so, when he freely admitted being evil. If he really had any dirt on Vince, he wouldn't have been let go until Linda's Senate race is over.

Because Funaki was clearly the most feared backstage politican in WWE, a man HHH, Austin, JBL, Taker etc knew it was best to keep their distance from.
Plus he knew Kung Fu.

He didn't have any dirt. He was lucky enough to be friends wih Stone Cold and HBK. Once their careers were over, so was his.
