Calling it here. Either MVP or Henry is the next big surprise release. Leaning towards Henry because he gets injured frequently and is overweight. Luke Gallows

Seriously, girls in WWE, don't date your co-workers. It hardly ever works out and most of the time you're the one who is going to get the crap end of the stick when things go sour. Then again, you'd probably also get the crap end of the stick if you turned him down to try and protect your career. Women are so completely disposable to the WWE that there's no real way to protect yourself.

Has Matt been released? He's tweeting as if he has. He appears to be talking about legit hating McIntyre. Did he say he hopes Drew dies in a car accident?

What, did somebody else (other than Matt) say they wanted their opponent to die in a car accident?

I've never liked the logic that says that these men are white knights and these horrible, evil women forced them to cheat on their wives or girlfriends so they deserve to be punished for their misdeeds. Seriously, girls in WWE, don't date your co-workers. It hardly ever works out and most of the time you're the one who is going to get the crap end of the stick when things go sour. I don't know WHY I'm supposed to give a crap about this stuff but until either one of them comes out with the truth, it is just garden-variety gossip and belongs more on TMZ than on Wrestlecrap.

Katie Lea = Was never really the focus of any storyline, which is a shame because i always thought she had a strong presence. but she'd a good wrestler, so i can see TNA (or failing that, ROH or SHIMMER) picking her up asap, which could lead to goo things for her. Jimmy Wang Yang = I liked him. he got fairly over within months of debuting, but after that he just kinda fizzled out. again i think there's a silver lining here, as he could get a decent push elsewhere, since WWE apparently had no plans fo him. Slam Master J = Meh. i always enjoyed his work, but from what i'v heard he wasn't able to get the SMJ gimmick over, so i suppose they are justified in letting him go. he's a good wrestler though, so hopefully he goes on to do something. Funaki = Wow, i actually never thought he'd be relaeased. i've read he does alot of work backstage and is pretty popular with everyone, so maybe it was a mutual thing, he's gotta be getting old by now (?) Mickie James = Didn't expect that. even if they weren't interested in pushing her, she was arguably their most over female wrestler, so she was a very useful asset. due to her singing career i'm thinking this might also have been a case of her wanting to leave, rather than a proper firing. but i may be wrong. either way, she's educated, has immense name value and is talented, so she won't have any trouble getting work. Shelton Benjamin = I'm hardly his number one fan, but shelton was useful to have around. his matches were far from emotional rollercoasters, but if you want a good visual match then shelton's good. i would've kept him around in the midcard for a bit, having fun little matches with whoever was getting an IC title level push, but whatever. i think his true calling is to team back with charlie and go to japan, they'd do better there IMO.

It's considerably more than just gossip if Meltzer was reporting it. Even unofficially. This stuff goes on a lot in WWE: Women are disposable, and some have to be willing to play ball. Michelle McCool is someone who got something out of it, girls like Mickie and Kelly (who Batista spoke about in a very classless manner) didn't get anything out of it.

I think Kozlov, Mark Henry, Hawkins, Goldust, Ryder, Chavo and Masters are all next.

I can almost understand all of the names on that list as for most of them, WWE clearly is doing NOTHING with them so letting them go may be more productive for them.
I will say two things... 1) Katie Lea was NEVER used properly...she might not have been that great a wrestler, but she was pretty damn sexy and in my opinion had the ability to become a great ring side valet along the lines of something Sheri used to do...this boat was seriously missed on her. 2) Micki? Micki? Are you kidding me? I mean with her departure the only really decent wrestler the Divas now have is Beth. Don't get me wrong I love Maryse but her in ring sucks. And Gail Kim is just frigg'n sloppy as hell. And Melina? While I think she's pretty (I know some don't) I have to wonder she seems to be injured often.
Sad, sad day.

I can see Matt Hardy being the next superstar wished well in his future endeavors, especially after last night's SmackDown.
EDIT: I was just browsing through Matt Hardy's Twitter page. Not sure if this was already brought up in this thread, but he has some harsh words for Drew McIntyre.
"The reason I hate Drew is cuz he's been given everything without workin' for it.. While I've busted my ass for EVERYTHING I've ever earned!"
"And to earn everything I that I've have, I've sacrificed & destroyed my body.. That's why I actually respect Edge-cuz he's done the same. "

" Yeah, he is clearly in kayfabe mode and is doing his part in pushing his angle with Drew along. They obviously have something planned for him, even if it just to get Drew over (which he clearly can't do on his own). I think it is safe to say that he is safe for now. Besides, his merchandise still moves, which is something that most of those released this week (other than Mickie) cannot say.

Chris Jericho isn't exactly being sensitive when it comes to Maria and Mickie's releases being music-related. Someone asked him on Twitter why he can be in both WWE and Fozzy, yet the Divas in question can't be in WWE and have music careers, his response was "Because I'm Rick James, bitch."

Doesn't really look like a shot at Mickie at all there; but even if it was, dude's got what like four or five albums out already, as well as being one of the top guys in the company.
He's on a whole 'nother plateau than Mickie in either profession.

What was he supposed to say? He isnt there on Twitter to make remarks about ex employees. I appluad him for brushing it off. And let's face it, the guys play by a different ruleset. Batista could release a rap album, and the WWE wont release him.

Batista could release a rap album, and the WWE wont release him. Worst possible example you could have given. Because I really want to hear that album.
