I bet Bourne could make the Playmaker look good.

The STF, a bland name for a bland wrestler and a horrible weak submission move. Hey, come on, Masahiro Chono made it look pretty legit.

Gotta agree with that One of the most boring moves in wrestling turned into a finishing move Also it looks kinda pathetic jumping on there back like a diva does when they try and interfear.

MVP's overdrive is the crappiest looking finish move I've ever seen.
Am I the only one that liked Hogan's leg drop finisher? I bought it. You run into a boot from a huge guy, and that stuns you. Then before you know it WHAM! 300 pounds drop down on your throat...1..2...3.
It wasnt any different really from say the Warriors finisher. And I would argue the bodysplash looked less impactful.

Honestly, I think this one is probably the most believable finisher that anyone on the roster currently uses.

Starship Pain. Overelaborate split-legged moonsault and he barely connects with it.

I hate both, cant buy neither of them as finishing moves, just awful

A move shouldn't be judged on how it looks. It should be judged on how effective it is. A lot of sensible moves don't pass the eye test. The Playmaker is extremely contrived, but it's still a jarring neckbreaker MVP uses after going after the head with his offense. Granted, the Drive-by Kick would make more sense, but for some reason, he chose not to use it anymore. Starship Pain is a high velocity splash. Both moves, when connected smoothly/applied properly, are believable, as are a lot of moves listed in this thread (G2S, SCF, STF, Rear Naked Choke/Sleeper).
The Lie Detector, however, is just flat-out ass. This move has a 95% miss rate and when it does hit, it looks weak as hell. Nobody has taken this move well. Nobody can make it look good. The Running Forearm was only credible when Lex Luger did it and that was because he had a steel plate in his arm. I don't know what R-Truth was thinking making this a finishing move.
And I'm shocked nobody has said Santino's Cobra strike. Comedy move or not, it sucks.

A lot of these so called crap finishers are the product of WWE using a safer style after the rash of neck injuries their superstars were getting. Does the AA look weak, as compared to when he initially used the move, it was more of a DVD? Yes, but I'd rather workers use weaker finishers and being able to walk later in life then a bunch of bad ass super high impact finishers, and a group of cripples.

The Playmaker is extremely contrived, but it's still a jarring neckbreaker MVP uses after going after the head with his offense. It doesn't look like a jarring neckbreaker. The leg can't grip the way an arm does so a normal swinging neckbreaker should be more effective.

Part of the reason I like wrestling but not boxing or MMA is because you're not trying to legit injure your opponents.

That cheap ass fireman's carry into a botchy looking nothing that Wade Barrett does. It looks like something some backyard wrestler would come up with when trying to modify the already weak FU into something ever weaker looking.

I think in order to make a finisher look effective, Evan Bourne must be on the receiving end of it. I can see Bourne making every finisher look good but one
Eve's armbar.
