Ok before I start, I have to say that I am not talking about mocking JR's Bell's Palsy because that is pretty distasteful. I also know that the character was created purely for Russo and Ferrara to publicly air their feelings on JR.
But I have to admit, some of the stuff I thought was funny.
I did like the "CHOP! CHOP! CHOP"" stuff and basically speaking in soundbites. I also chuckled when he was asking Dr. Death to do another move because he was tired of saying "chop". I also liked the stuff when he would mock where a wrestler grew up and who he played American Football for at College. Because that always pissed me off when JR went on about it as I couldn't give a s*** about it.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who found at least some of it remotely funny.

BBQ sauce as a 'foreign object' was amusing, I'll say that much.

It was ok, the kinda stuff you'd do with your friends about JR, saying everything 3 times, having a heart attack about your favourite wrestler, bringing up imaginary lengthy college football careers.
Thing is;
1) They made it offensive, making fun of someone's disability is never cool, it's not entertaining, it just makes people sick.(Although it's apparently based on him doing the same impression for McMahon who found it hilarious) 2) It's ok as a mildly amusing joke with friends, not on worldwide TV with no purpose or payoff taking time away from things that will make money.

I thought it was extremely petty and immature myself. That sorta thing belongs in bars and talking about with your friends in a fun manner, not on a national stage using up valuable screen time to air your personal grudges.

This. We've all done the JR impersonations with our friends, heck I still say stuff like "be that as it may" and refer to things happening in "the coming weeks and months" etc, but the fact that in the first couple of weeks they were making fun of the guy's medical condition made Russo and Ferrara come off REALLY badly. Especially considering the guy they were mocking was (is) one of the most respected figures amongst wrestling fans.

Never found it funny. Even setting aside the Bell's Palsy bit, I just didn't find it entertaining.
And I didn't see it when the WWF did it, but I imagine I would have felt the same way about it then.

Basically it was okay for WWE to do it because he worked there and he knew it was in jest and not really personal and gave JR something to do when he was coming back from an attack of Bell's Palsy and got the fans to really come to the side of JR when he came back full time.
However with WCW it was a cheap shot and was petty and very unfunny and led to nothing. If it achieved something fine but it was just mocking a person people liked that didn't go anywhere so yeah not cool whatsoever.
Honestly of course people mock JR because he's become very cliqued like "STONE COLD! STONE COLD!" or "BAH GAWD!" and "It's gonna be a slobberknocker" or "Business is about to pick up!" I like JR but him commentary of the last few years resembles a bad Smackdown vs. Raw commentary track. But still he's probably one of the best ever but after awhile he just became a parody of himself. However mocking his Bells Palsy is not funny, it's sad.

That's about it.

Yeah. Remember, the facial distortion only lasted for one week. It was gold all around.
Without Oklahoma, we would have never known that Juventud Guerrera played football for Tijuana State.

No because even if the mocking of JR's Bell's Palsy didn't happen the parody was still going to suck no matter what.

It was fine as long as it was all in good humor but when they took it to a personal level of hate against Jim Ross that's when I felt it crossed the line of decency.
I understand you dislike someone, but he is much more respected and has more clout than you ever will in the business from his peers, and because of that you should shut the hell up and understand your place and the legacy you are going to be leaving behind compared to his. It's a matter of respecting your elders and those who came before you.

No because it was a stupid Russo footprint type angle that is solely produced for his personal amusement at making jabs at his competitors. Right up there with Who, Voodoo Kin Mafia, and Virgil being renamed "Shane"

Right up there with Who, Voodoo Kin Mafia, and Virgil being renamed "Shane" Well im not sure Who was taking a shot at Anyone but Virgil being Virgil was a shot at Dusty Rhodes and then he was Vincent to take a shot at Vince. His whole big time career was created out of spite.
