No because it was a stupid Russo footprint type angle that is solely produced for his personal amusement at making jabs at his competitors. Right up there with Who, Voodoo Kin Mafia, and Virgil being renamed "Shane" Well im not sure Who was taking a shot at Anyone but Virgil being Virgil was a shot at Dusty Rhodes and then he was Vincent to take a shot at Vince. His whole big time career was created out of spite. Who was a shot at Hogan.

Yeah. Remember, the facial distortion only lasted for one week. It was gold all around. Without Oklahoma, we would have never known that Juventud Guerrera played football for Tijuana State. ;D Deep. Fried. Gold.

I thought it was hilarious and one of the best things WCW did in it's dying days. So what if they made fun of his bells palsy. It's not a disability. He's not handicapped. Just one side of his face doesn't move. Big deal. It's more of a physical charactistic. To me it's no different then when they make fun of someones weight, or when the make fun of Owen/HHH/Flair having big noses or China's manliness, etc.
If it had recently happened to JR, and they made fun of it right after, then it would be in bad taste. A "too soon" type of thing, but if you want to do an impression of someone, you want to try to get it as close as possible.

The stuff Vince has done to humiliate Ross is just as bad. For some reason Ross is a whipping boy for Vince which I don't get. Outside of being a great commentator he was/is a great talent scout for the company and by all accounts a very restpected man behind the scenes.
None of it was funny and a lot of it was ridiculous. Pouring bbq sauce all over Medusa? Someone who was once a respected women's champion fell from grace fast.

Hes stll suffering to this day and its the reason he wasnt around recently. Having half my face frozen would be a handicap for me.

Hell, I would'nt be surprised if he took part in writing some of the "Billionaire" Ted skits(he first started becoming part of the creative team around that time I think).

I wasn't offended at all, even by the Bell's Palsy stuff It's just not a very good impression IMO, painfully unfunny, especially week after week after week after week

I thought it was hilarious WWE did it first but when WCW did it all of a sudden ppl were offended by it I'd rather see Oklahoma back then I would J.R I'm not gonna call it hillarious, but you are damn right. back then people would nail wcw to the wall for anything they did and accuse them of either copying wwf, being too old or not being creative. The WWF has an 80 year old woman get knocked up by a sex addict and give birth to a rubber hand, has "accidental nudity" during innovative Bra and panties matches, oh I almost forgot they also shot a vignette that depicted necrophilia but they get passes on all that. WCW tries thier hand and it's offensive. This always bothered me. I will never stop defending wcw...ever

Hey, you and me both. It's only gotten worse since WCW was on the losing side of history and today gets bashed by people who never even watched it.

I thought Oklahoma was funny. To this day, I'll still sometimes yell out "CLOTHESLINE! CLOTHESLINE! CLOTHESLINE!" during a match.
As a comedy character, I thought Oklahoma was funny. By the time he became Cruiserweight Champion though, the humor had long passed.

Thank you both for backing me on that. It killed me when they went under. I was scrwed with so much during thier last year because I would not switch from Nitro to Raw no matter what. These days the bashing still bothers me and it's nice to know I was not and am not alone

These days the bashing still bothers me and it's nice to know I was not and am not alone This kind of thing bothers me with anything before the Monday Night Wars. I don't know how many times I've heard someone say something or someone from the early '90s or before "sucked" and then couldn't tell me anything about it. If you don't know about something, that's fine, I have no problem with that. But if you put something or someone down, at least have a valid reason to do so.

I still dont how Who was a shot at Hogan. Was it because he wore all yellow? Who wore red and yellow. The trunks and all that were yellow, and he had red as a secondary color on his mask, from what I remember. And I'm not sure what the shot was supposed to be about... as I always thought Who was a take off of the whole "Who's on First" routine. Vince Russo brings it up for a second in a Ultimate Insider tape, but doesn't go further than saying that it was a shot at Hulk Hogan that Vince had created, and he didn't understand it either.

The fact that Oklahoma was Cruiserweight Champion makes me want to be in "1,000 Ways To Die", as I'll die by eating pizza accidentally mixed with poison.

Fun fact: Oklahoma become Cruiserweight Champion under the Kevin Sullivan regime, not when Vince Russo was booking.
Granted, Russo was probably going to make him Cruiserweight Champion anyway, but it's not on record as a Russo decision, and Ferrera sticking around as a subordinate booker and on-screen character during Russo's ousting led to a long-term falling out between the two that was only reconciled in recent years.
Perhaps they should have expanded the character and brought in a Jerry Lawler parody to call matches with him. Of course, this was slightly before Lawler became entirely obnoxious, so maybe that's just in hindsight

It was all fairly funny except when he started imitating the Bell's Palsy, which was a step over the line and I relished every slap Cornette gave him. I think JR would probably have said the same thing.
