I really really really hope that this isnt how they start the breakup of the spirit squad by giving those morons the tag titles at Unforgiven. I'd rather cade & murdoch have the straps then those two and I dont even like them that much.
Seriously I dont get the love the lowlanders get from you guys.
Am I in the minority here and the only one who still think they're crap?

I don't hate them, but I don't think they're that great, either. Personally, I think the Spirit Squad should hold the titles for a long time.

DieselTrain, you are not alone, I'm a huge Spirit Squad mark, and I don't like The Highlanders too much, I'll def. be rooting for the Squad at Unforgiven, even though I think they're gonna lose ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) EDIT: Hey I forgot, they're in my sig!

The highlanders are boring as hell. They have about 3 jokes left in them for backstage segments, all of which I can pretend I've heard already and thus skip seeing.

Three things
1. Lowlanders somehow managed to be a worse insult than Dredge.
2. The Sprit Squad have held and non-defended the titles for over 4 months. enough is enough, it's time for a change.
3. I'M SPARTACUS ROBBIE!

Are you implying they are from the lowlands of scotland rather than the highlands? Since I'm from the lowlands I don't see that as an insult...
But I'm not a huge fan of them. I would be if they were actually Scottish. Since they are canadian I can take them or leave them. But why shouldn't they get the tag titles? It would be a change. I'm sick of all these super long title reigns these days.

Raw tag titles have and always will suck. They can be forgotten about for about 6 weeks, then briefly mentioned to set up a filler match on the upcoming PPV that no one cares about.
...yay.

But it doesn't have to be that way. If the WWE truly cared about the tag titles. If several tag teams (like they have now) keep challenging the Squad, but the Squad continues to dominate (via the Freebirds rule) and retain the belt, it could make the belts seem important. And if done right, when the Squad finally drops the belts, it could be huge.

And if done right, when the Squad finally drops the belts, it could be huge. Alright, I always post about my hate on the fact that WWE has tag titles...so I'll try to be a little more reasonable here. No, it certainly DOESN'T have to be that way. WWE has the teams around necessary to have a legit tag division, and really all it would take is an extra 2 mins of promo/back stage segments to get a couple feuds over. It wouldn't happen any time soon though. Fans are used to the tag titles basically being a joke, and while they might be happy for a team they like to win...it really won't be a big deal. Take London/Kendrick. Fans were happy to see them win but 2 minutes later they probably didn't give it another thought. My personal (somewhat drastic) suggestion to get the tag titles more over. Make a storyline out of the fact that the tag titles are gone. Strip the tag belts from RAW...or SD. Not both so it's not repetitive, but strip the belts and cite a lack of competition. Continue to have tag matches between the existing teams, make sure to have 1 match per episode and give a clean winner. Cycle around the wins a bit and give a few surprises with clean wins, such as say...Haas/Viscera getting a win over the Highlanders. Run a segment or two each episode...just a minute or two, of the current teams talking about how they aren't inferior and deserve to have a title. Complain about the fact that they have no belts to strive for. Work with that for a while, then when the time is right...announce a tag tournament. Since the tag matches have had unique booking with unexpected victors, the fans wouldn't be sure of who would win each match. Have it booked however they feel like it (continue to have clean wins, as a change of pace the fans have come to enjoy), then have the final match on a PPV for the belts. Then go from there... Would be an absolutely excellent midcard.
