Day 10: Jimmy "Superfly" SnukaEvery day, I'll post a wrestler who has never won the WWE Championship and we'll vote on whether or not he deserved to win the belt during his time there. When we run out of interesting people, we'll have a battle royal with all of the people who got more yes votes than no votes! In your voting, consider whether or not it would have been wise to put the belt on the worker at the time of his run, not just whether or not he was a worthy champion. For example, Jake Roberts would have no doubt been a great champion, but was it smart to put the belt on him at the height of Hulkamania? That's up for discussion. Past Results:-Day 1: Mr. Perfect (Yes: 24, No: 11) -Day 2: Raven (Yes: 6, No: 18) -Day 3: Razor Ramon (Yes: 15, No: 14) -Day 4: The Hurricane (Yes: 3, No: 24) -Day 5: Dusty Rhodes (Yes: 5, No: 14) -Day 6: Brian Pillman (Yes: 5, No: 19) -Day 7: Ken Shamrock (Yes: 15, No: 8) -Day 8: Kerry Von Eric (Yes: 4, No: 12) -Day 9: Paul Orndorff (Yes: 8, No: 10)

I can't really speak for the time period I didn't see, but he should not have been champion in the mid/late 1980s and into the 1990s. From many accounts he was extremely over in the early 1980s before he became suspected of murdering a girlfriend. That incident pretty much stopped his push.

No.
His promos were terrible for the most part (rambled alot) but he was able to convey intensity. That along with his feuds that had a direct recipe: Blood, guts and revenge, helped him get over in the early 80's.
His moves were exciting but imo and in the opinion of others, what made him a great protagonist were the heels who opposed him.
Albano was a heel that fans hated ALOT and wanted to desperately see get his butt kicked. Faces rarely got their revenge on Albano so Snuka (with the piledrivers he took) was in a great place for revenge on a hated heel. You also had Muraco with the mike attack and the very rare red X sign on tv, to shield us from the gore, and Roddy Piper, who was voted a while ago as the greatest heal of all time.
So circumstances, his demons and Hogan's rise to glory makes it a no for me.
