Possibly not literally.
I want some anime to watch. Not the usual suspects (FMA, DBZ, Trigun, Bebop, etc.) and, hey, I know there are a lot of fine anime fans here with good taste so help a fella out, fella?

Well f***. Off the top of my head, I recomend Casshern Sins, Cromartie High School, Detroit Metal City, Baccano, Excel Saga and Welcome to the N.H.K.

Death Note is probably the only anime I enjoyed.

Actually, the way Gene Simmons markets it wouldn't surprise me Nah, it's a comedy about a death metal band called Detroit Metal City (or DMC for short) and it's rise to success. Although I think Gene did make a cameo in the live action adaptation.

No way you're as much of a gross pervert as me!
Anyway, my favorite is Fruits Basket, but that's a very, very girly show. :B It's good, though.

I'd blame being bi but that's a cliche. (I do like Fruits Basket though I haven't watched in ages. Thanks for reminding me of its existence!)

Neia_7.
Funny little series. A bit on the short side and kinda just ends abruptly but it's a good ride.

Grave of the Fireflies (although it is heartbreaking) and Lucky Star (my favorite non-action anime series)

Maybe Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Fist of the North Star, Neon Genesis Evangaleon for your series. Movie-wise I'd have to say Akira and Ninja Scroll. Apart from the blacklist you gave at the beginning these would probably be my recommendations.

Try some of the noitaminA stuff: Honey and Clover, Moyashimon, Mononoke, Eden of the East, Nodame Cantabile, Trapeze, and other stuff.
P.S. You guys are no match for my gross pervertness.

The tentacle monster has a point... Anyway, Godot... suggestions. -Ranma 1/2 -Black Lagoon ...and that's about it from me for right now. But you might like them, so I figured I'd suggest them. Oh, I knew I forgot one... if you can get into it, Hajime no Ippo is a pretty good, although I'm basing that solely off of the manga at the moment.

I'm sure the WrestleCrap Apocalypse of 2012 will finish this argument once and for all. I wish those monster girl entries were still translated, btw. Anyway, I managed to already check out a few, thanks to my friends. Thumbs up to Detroit Metal City, Black Lagoon and, of course, Fruits Basket. I used to be up to date on all the anime stuff but then I got lazy so it's an effort to drag myself back into the fold.

Almost all the entires are translated. The dragon girl in my sig is the only untranslated one in the encyclopedia since it's been only a week since it was posted. Also, I heard that Kenkou Kurosu/Cross is making some sort of monster girl rpg. Joy.

I can't stop recommending Area 88; if you played the Super Nintendo game "U.N. Squadron" back when, this is the anime that game was based off. It had a three-part OVA in the 1980's and then a 12-episode remake in 2004.
If you love old, Vietnam-era airplanes, it's awesome.
This'll give you a taste for the original series, complete with the theme from "Iron Eagle".
