No politics, of course.
- Crash (the 2004 film). Yeah, the message is clear, but it's a fun collection of stories.
- Slash fiction and shipping culture. At its very worse, it's morbidly amusing reading the nonsensical stories, and I think some fan pairings have good chemistry to them.
- Kanye West the rapper/producer.

The original Transformers. People often say that it was put up on a pedistal and wasn't very good, etc. However, while the quality of the episodes/comic books themselves may be questionable, the mythology itself is much deeper than people give it credit for. It would have lent itself well to a sci-fi epic as opposed to a movie where "stuff blows up and there's a hot girl".

Masters Of The Universe I love that movie Seconded! A fun, under-rated gem. I think it's aged a lot better than the Filmation cartoon series.

Vanilla Ice- To The Extreme- Silly? Yes, but he was trying hard at least. Plus it has a lot of lyrics that just have to be attempts at tongue-in-cheek comedy.

Gremlins 1 over Gremlins 2. It shocks me that theres a sizeable contingent who thinks 2 is better and I disagree with that so vehemently so thats why Ill defend part 1 over 2 to the death.
Ditto for Temple of Doom over Last Crusade.

Juno : A beautiful film that's strongly written and features some great performances from all comers. Yeah Ellen Page turns in this near iconic performance that may frame the rest of her career but the supporting performances turned in by JK Simmons, Alison Janey, Jason Bateman and Jenifer Garner help make the film real as they work to bring reality to Juno McGuff's world until she is forced to join reality as it is. The ending of the film is so damn beautiful it's perfect to me.
Real Chicago Cubs fans- Not the faux Vince Vaughn frat boy wannabes with good jobs that can afford to go to Wrigley these days. Us fans that were born into and spent our childhood summer beliving that this may be the year. Those of us who respect all of the franchiese 134 year history, including the fact that they haven't one the World Series since 1908. Those of us who have had our heartbroken at least once when it seemed like it was going to happen. Those of us that can't just dump them for another team because we've been infected with a disease that we can't shake because its greatest sympton is one of humanities greatest traits.Hope.
