So which major company do you see being the next one to go under. Personally me I think FYE will be next. Both stores in my area have closed off their back areas plus all these years of charging MSRP for everything has finally caught up with them.

I say Borders. I know a friend who works there and she wonders how they are still in business.
Sears and K-Mart are apart of the same company and are on much firmer ground since merging.

I hate to see anyone lose their jobs, but I think FYE's days are numbered. Hell, I'm surprised they've lasted this long.

I'm going with UK, And I say Blockbuster
With Online Rentals, Torrents & Bootlegs Rental stores seem pointless
Which will be sad because anyone losing jobs is a sod & I have fond memories of BB

Blockbuster is doomed. Nobody wants to use their store fees anymore. At least the other companies aren't competing directly with Netflix.

Blockbuster has to be staring inevitability in the face. They're doomed.

I voted Radio Shack out of those choices. I'm really surprised they're still in business even with their constant "reinventions". The last few times I've went in there for something specific, they didn't carry it, nor even offered to try to order it.
And even though Sears and K-Mart are apart, one of the chains could still easily close. I really, really hope K-Mart doesn't. I don't know how the one near me stays in business (okay, they only usually have five employees max working, but still.) but their clearance merchandise is insane and usually rings up lower than than the last price placed on it anyway. Honestly, Sears is just living on reputation (mainly of Craftsman) and the fact they've built up so many stores. Lowe's/Home Depot regularly beat them in prices and Dewalt is a superior brand in about every area. Plus, almost every employee of Sears I've ever met has been an ass.

I remember going to Blockbuster a lot as a kid, renting DVDs and video games (back when they were cheap). It used to be an special thing in our family. Nowadays, with BB's prices, and with Netflix and Red Box out, I fear they (BB) might be going out of business. Heck they closed one here not to long ago.

Blockbuster has had the most negative news lately, with the mass store closing.

Blockbusters have been closing down stores all over the place. They're done.

Blockbuster.
If not flat out dieing off, they are going to evolve into their main enemies right now. They are supposedly closing all the stores and shifting to an online mailing service like Netflix while at the same time having rental kiosks like Red Box.

Blockbuster used to be such a great concept in the mid/late 80's. It's sad to see it go in a way; but the Blockbuster I used to love going to to rent VHS tapes and NES games died well over a decade ago anyway.

I went with FYE; most blockbusters I know of have went out of business or are only around cause that's the only profit that part of town gets.
IE: Where I live there is not to much to go to, Wal-Mart, Blockbuster and a few other places but if you want to go to the mall or say Target, we have to go to Durham or Raleigh for the time being.
At the FYE I use to go at; they were always running specials for their dvds and a lot of dvds (new) were marked down in price.
IE: Kurt Angle's DVD was $14.99 for the longest of time and one of the last times I went in there I picked it up for $7.99. Anchorman was $6, Starsky and Hutch was $2.99 and the Hell in a Cell box set was for $10.00 and I ended up picking up all of those at certain points when I went in.
Anyone I go into are slowly marking a lot of their high priced stuff down, TV Shows, Box / Gift sets, shirts, posters, etc. Hell their candy is like buy 2 boxes for $3.00 and everything else for candy is like $1.40 or below. So I think FYE is pretty much going down.

With Netflix, RedBox and On Demand why have a Blockbuster?

With Netflix, RedBox and On Demand why have a Blockbuster? Good point, I wasn't even thinking of OnDemand, even though I use the free version to catch up on TV shows I miss.

Blockbuster for sure. I mean, I love the convenience of On-Demand renting and all that, but I still like to go to the rental stores as well. Plus the Red Box idea sucks IMO, when Blockbuster goes I'll miss them

Yeah, Blockbuster is screwed. They just closed a store that has been around 20 years in my area that survived the first cuts.
Radio Shack seem next what with major stores carrying electronic components and interent ordering being a lot cheaper.

Here in Chile there are TONS of blockbusters and I had never seen one with more that 3 people including me in the last 3 years
I still don't understand how they had survived, even though they are making outlet sales
