J-Men Forever. Has anybody ever seen it? I have never talked to anyone who's seen it, outside of my local circle of friends who watched my 1980's home recorded VHS copy. In a way, the movie is like the granddaddy of MST3K. In the late 70's, the producers took a bunch of 1940's & 50's black and white public domain superhero serials, featuring Captain America, Captain Marvel and Commander Cody among others, edited all the footage together with a few new scenes to tie it together, and dubbed comedy dialog over the whole movie, giving it a wacky new plot. In it, the Earth is invaded by the evil Lightning Bug, a master of disguise who lives on the moon. He plans to take over the Earth by using deadly and destructive rock n' roll music, as the Earth is still stuck a generation behind, being squares and listening to peaceful waltz music. And it's up to the team of the J-Men to stop him. Truly one of my favorite movies of all-time. A guy on Youtube has posted most of it. youtube.com/watch?v=KPR3KrZV3Tk

Great stuff. Seemed to cut off a wee bit short at the end.

Not Commander Cody.......NOOOO!!!!!!! I actually have Radar Men From The Moon, the first Commander Cody serial on DVD. I snagged it for $4 years ago just for a Superman-Hitler cartoon that was on it since my friend and I had been dying to see those since we'd first heard of them. The serial was pretty good.

Hi Blade, Thanks for the heads-up, I've ordered a copy now. You might also enjoy the Firesign Theatre's Hot Shorts, their first version of this sort of thing. The various segments of the movie (which I have on a VHS dupe) are on YouTube.
(I love serials. I have about 80 on tape...)
