Ya know, since ECW's on Sci-Fi Channel these days I think they should do an homage to Sci-Fi's most popular show, Battlestar Galactica: An identical limo to the one that Vince blew up in shows up in the middle of RAW. The Vince appears in the window, alive and well: "I've been to parts unknown, and I'm going to take us there." Not being a Galactica watcher, I wouldn't get it, but where would be the "parts unknown" Vince would take WWE?

We knew Vince was sick, but not this sick... "I didn't even know he was sick!" Poor Vince, he'll have to join that Randy Baer fellow and they can deliver pizzas together in heaven...

It was pure garbage for them to do that, and at the same time it was the most shocking and interesting thing they've done in years. Sadly, they're really suspending that suspending your disbelief aspect that I enjoyed with wrestling. WWE just gave what people wanted the Sorpranos to end and I've never ever watch that damn show.
I mentioned on Scott Keith's site who the "suspects" should be.
1. Hulk Hogan. 2. Doink the Clown. 3. Vince McMahon himself by either sucide, faking his death, or crack pipe explosion. 4. Paul E 5. Eric Bischoff 6. One of those damn kids and their damn dog, Scooby Doo. 7. That guy who raised the briefcase in 1999. 8. Jimmy Hoffa

Okay.....none of you who hate this angle can tell anyone can die on TV anymore. You were all pissed that Tony Soprano didnt get whacked and now that the Vince character has been killed, you hate that as well.

How can there be a proper payoff for this in Wrestling terms?

Thing is, there are SO many places they could go with this. Seriously, this is what's known in the TV industry as a "game changer." There is now a power vacuum in WWE. Of course, we're going to have the funeral, but then we need to have the reading of the will. Naturally, Vince left a video will. I'd have Vince do two things: 1.) have a mold created of his ass and have his beneficiaries have to kiss it in order to get their inheritence (even in death, they're kissing his ass) and 2.) at the end before he's announcing who he left the company to, it cuts out.
This could end up like Marvel's Civil War: all these factions (and factions within factions) scrambling for control of WWE. We can have signs like "I'm With Shane," "I'm With Stephanie," "I'm With Flair," "I'm With Triple H", etc. WWE is in a state of turmoil.
I really should stop thinking of this. I'm just going to be let down if and when they blow the angle.

Is there a clip of this on the net? I don't watch WWE, so I missed this.

VINCE faked his own death in pretty Ala Bruce Lee/Lee's Body Double's character in Game of Death (1978). The explosion to me is WWE's way to tell whoever wrote the ending of that HBO Mob Show how to make a good ending, even if it means faking your death, that explosion was PRETAPED one or two nights earlier.

So if it was pre-taped, how did it foresee the Sopranos finale inb order for it to be some self-defeating commentary on it?

If nothing else, we've at least learned from this that people will defend ANYTHING the WWE does. Which is why I don't come to this forum and try to debate them or have a logical conversation with some of them because they will defend anything the E does, and they also say that the "e" "Can do no wrong." It's sad when you think about it.

Honestly, after watching the "Press Confrence" with the obviously fake crowd/reporter noise, this is indeed crapworthy

It's definitely going to be a Gooker nominee come voting time, and will be probably a top 2 or 3 candidate. However, remember last year: Eddiesploitation was crapped upon like no one's business and it won by less than 7 percentage points (which only equals a few hundred votes). So, I would wait for the end of this year before jumping to the conclusion of Vince's death= 2007 Gooker.

If nothing else, we've at least learned from this that people will defend ANYTHING the WWE does. I'm not defending the angle. I'm being entertained by it. And isn't that the point? I think about 90% of the bile directed towards this angle is a knee-jerk reaction. Is it outlandish, over-the-top and ridiculous? Of course it is! But before crapping (pun intended) on this, let's see where it goes. I'll get back to you in a month. To me, it's wrestling going back to it's carny roots. And sometimes, there's nothing wrong with that.

So how big of a landslide will this vote be?

So how big of a landslide will this vote be? I'm sure "Vince McMahon, ECW Champion" will get plenty of votes as well. But unless WWE pulls something incredibly creative out of their asses, I see this angle winning.
