Or is it just given to them? What if, for example, Kane decided he wanted to come out to some song by Cannibal Corpse from now on? Do wrestlers have that much say over things?

No, they don't have that kind of power. The most they'd get probably would, in the right circumstances, get the choice of a few themes to come out to, and choose which ones, but the WWE pretty much decides the options in those few instances, and picks out the actual song for everyone else

I think it would be a collobarative effort. The WWE would want theme music that the wrestler felt happy with.

Yes, that would make sense... after all, I think that say, Kane for instance would be a bit peeved if he had this scary monster character and he came out to the "Three's Company" theme.

I'm fairly certain taker had some say in his music when it came to Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit. As did Edge when it came to Rob zombie and also I recall Xpac getting the piss taken out of him by Edge for choosing that awful X-factor music. But I doubt Triple H had anything to do with getting his brother to do the DX theme music, he's a thoroughly upstanding gentleman who would never allow his position to influence family and freinds role in the company.

From what I know of (very little mind you), WWE buys the rights to certain "stock music" which they could use for their wrestlers entrances. The thing is these rights are not exclusive and can be purchased by anyone. I recall a while back hearing the Hardy Boys theme music used for a highlight reel on ESPN and the APA theme used in a car comercial.

I'm not totally sure on it. I think most of the music is pre-picked by the WWE but the wrestlers are given a choice of the one they like, but I think and heard that it is a collaboration between the superstars, also if they get a big superstar singer or band, some of those songs are on limit time use(with the exception of Triple H's entrance music) but also the wrestlers have a choice in whom they would like also.

One thing about music that pisses me off is when it's edited for DVDs... I just watched WMXX and both Victoria's and Stacy Keibler's themes were edited to the generics in WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain.

In WWE? With copyright issues and whatnot, it's a rarity. I remember hearing Zack Gowan's mother chose his music for him. Personally, I prefer music that isn't comercially known when it comes to wrestling themes, 'cause a lot of the time, Lyrics can screw up an entrance, just look at Kane's Finger Eleven song that gets cut off 3 seconds after the lyrics start.

A wrestlers power to pick their music is equal to their power to decide whether they will job or not.

I think Kane should in fact come out to a Cannibal Corpse song. He just can't use "Drowning in Viscera"...

Flair has had the same entrance music for 33 years, albeit, it has been tweeked here and there over that preiod of time but, basically it hasn't changed.

You gotta wonder who in WWE thought it would be funny for Christy to come out to "Walk Idiot Walk."
