RD,
I was at a Walmart a few days back and I saw a spanish DVD with several masked wrestlers in it. It appeared to be from the 60's or 70's and it had Mil Mascaras in it. It looked pretty goofy from the pictures on the DVD. Just wondering it this was worth my 3 bucks or is it wrestlecrap worthy? And if you haven't seen it, I'll gladly to pick it up for ya.

I'll keep an eye out for it. I actually have a few El Santo movies I could induct, many of which were on Mystery Science Theater 3000... RD

In his day (late 70s), Mil Mascaras was quite exciting- one of the very early luchadores, I believe, certainly one of the early ones to make it across to the US. However, in the run most people will remember him for (94-ish in WCW and 97 as part of the useless AAA invasion of WWF), he was a washed-up hasbeen.
I have a tape from 1970s IWA starring Mil Mascaras in which the commentator says "Nice of Mil Mascaras, the champion, to join us this week" and "he's still single, ladies", which sound oddly shoot-ish.

If you look at what Santo was doing in the 1950s and what any U.S. rassler was doing at the same time, yeah, he was pretty good.
