Hi RD, on the radio show you and Blade briefly mentioned Kerwin White. I was wondering if you happened to catch Kerwin on Heat last night where he finally make his "debut". It wasn't a match, but he had an entire segment to do an in-ring promo. For his entrance, his theme was song that sounded a lot like a Frank Sinatra song. He drive down the entrance ramp in a golf cart with "K.W." on the hood. And believe it or not, I actually thought the whole thing was really funny! I wasn't sure what to make of Kerwin at first. I knew it had potential to be WrestleCrap, but I held off judgment.
The character is so clearly intended to be tongue-in-cheek that it's hard to call it crap. It's supposed to be ridiculous and over-the-top. Kind of like the Hurricane. On paper, a wrestler dressed up as a cape wearing superhero is wrestlecrap. But since the character is not supposed to be taken seriously, it worked. I think Kerwin may have a similar thing.
Anyway, my question is your thoughts on Kerwin.

He even dances like a white guy. His facial expressions are excellent too.

did you catch his entrance video!! that was CLASSIC, this guy is not wrestlecrap.
The dance moves, the golf cart, the music and the sweet entrance video make for an all around fun charecter, i knew they would do something to make me love this gimmick, and they have succeded!!

He isn't crap because he's Chavo and he's talented and I bet he takes he gimmick farther than you'd think.
That said, I do hate the way the WWE is trying to court its Hispanic audience. It's an audience that has serious potential to bring wrestling back towards mainstream popularity and they always kind of mock that fan base. A little of that is okay. Heck, a bunch of it is okay, but they need a few guys who aren't on lawn mowers or lying, cheating and stealing... It's too much, it's always "every single time."
Thing is, with this gimmick, there's an obvious and easy way for a face turn and redemption of the whole character.
