Well, that tears it. Should this have to be done again, I'll enter if only to finish it up and give you one more guy who bothered to complete it. Although if you want a second opinion judge...

The official decision will be posted this upcoming Friday!
Jed Shaffer ~Surprisingly, choosing between four entries is more difficult than you'd expect.

I'd love to see what you could do with Angle coming into WWF after the '96 Olympics. Imagine him being in the mix with the Hart Foundation, Austin, HBK, Vader, Mankind, and Taker!

So everybody knows, I believe the announcement has been postponed to next week. This is the 4th anniversary of WCR, and it wouldn't be fair to either that momentous occasion or mine to share the spotlight. And since WCR came first (and since it's RD's call), the announcement and new story will both debut next week.
Jed Shaffer ~For once, my lazy ass isn't to blame!!! ;D

Hmm. 2 Authors, but the only entry with more than one name is the trio.
Tied result?

Hey I have a question that maybe some others are wondering as well. On your list of possible future inductions (on page 1 of this thread) you mention an apocalypse angle for a future WCW. I am not familiar with that. Please enlighten. Of course anyone besides Jed who knows feel free to enlighten as well. I was only able to find one reference on a Google search and it was vague.

Regarding Apocalypse ...
I'm not sure of the date this was supposed to happen ... I believe it was around 1998, so it would coincide with the Horsemen reunion, but I could be wrong. Anyway, the idea centered on, with the Horsemen having recruited new members in Chris Benoit and ? (whoever was the fourth at the time of the idea), it would lead to Benoit and the fourth breaking off and turning heel, recruiting two of their own members and going after Flair. The name was a play on their roots ... Four Horsemen ... Apocalypse ... Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse ... get it?
Anyway, it was kiboshed courtesy of backstage politics. By the time the idea was proposed, the nWo was in full swing, and guys like Hogan and Nash had their spoons in the soup, and they weren't about to cut off their own legs by letting Flair have a hot storyline that might detract from their attention, LET ALONE letting a "vanilla midget" and a few other midcarders get over in the process. So the idea, as presented, died. The remnants of the angle somewhat surfaced as the Shane Douglas-led stable Revolution.
Jed Shaffer ~It's hard to find details on it, especially now, with the centerpiece of the angle being HIM.

Never knew that. Thanks. The Horsemen at the time of the 1998 Reunion were Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael and Dean Malenko. McMichael would make no sense (him being a Horseman made no sense) so it was probably Benoit and Malenko (both part of Revolution and the Radicalz). What's messed up is they brought Barry Windham back a few months later, and he was a PERFECT Horseman. Then after him and Flair had a reunion, they had him turn on Flair, making Flair look a schmuck/idiot (again) and have Windham side (but not join) the oversized NwO. Then they blew the West Texas Redneck gimmick Windham was in. What a waste.

Alright! We've got the new RTB!! ;D
Well, I'm in the middle of reading Simon's story right now. The differences need some getting used to; I'm used to Jed's creative metaphors and method of pacing. And it's LOOOOOOONNNNGGGG. And I have to admit that I'm not familiar with the old-school NWA and WCCW, so I don't quite know what to expect. But so far, it's pretty good. Good feud, and it's quite educational learning about the early 80's product.

Question: Were title belts indeed made from Super Bouncy Balls in WCCW like this story has it out to be? I enjoyed it never the less, just curious.

Hey all. Let me formally introduce myself. I am Simon Rawls, one of the two new Rewriting the Book writers. I hope all who take the time to read it enjoy my story and future stories. About halfway finshed my new one already ;D. I've already went back and read this entire board for suggestions and check it regularly, so feel free to post any ideas here (or pm or e-mail me). Love to get feedback, good and bad. Also I alredy had the privilege of reading Neil Cathan's story and it was excellent. So regardless if you are a TNA (they REALLY need to change that name) fan or not, I encourage all to read. Very crisp reading.

Question: Were title belts indeed made from Super Bouncy Balls in WCCW like this story has it out to be? I enjoyed it never the less, just curious. In a word YES! I made sure I was historically accurate with dates, people, moves, and titles. I really owe www.worldclasswrestling.info a huge thanks. They made my job a LOT easier if not possible. I don't think it was that individual title changes happened that often, just that for an organization of that size they had so many titles. WWF only had 3 men's titles until 1997 and the Women's title was almost always defunct or held by Moolah. WCCW had the American Title, American Tag-Team, Texas, World (feature prominently in this story), World Six-Man, Brass Knuckles not to mention other titles that made their way in the story (all real, I only took liberty with the Missouri one which to my knowledge never was in WCCW but then it only appeared in Texas once in the story). But feel free to check WCCW's title history. They even had other titles earlier and later on and some I just didn't use because of obscurity. www.worldclasswrestling.info/titlehistories.htmwww.100megsfree4.com/wiawrestling/pages/old/wccwinfo.htm (lists even more WCCW titles) Glad you enjoyed the story. One reason I put footnotes in there (they were for Jed though I was thrilled RD kept them in) was because of things that seemed odd that happened were NOT my creation but really happened (such as a plethora of titles and some un-pc language).

Cool, just curious about the belts.
And I know Jed still has his giant list of cool ideas, not sure if he has the FULL list or just the edited one. For the most part, the ideas there were golden.
Although I guess it might help if we had guidelines. What period of time and groups would you like ideas for? Is it now anything before 2000 we give to you and anything after we give to Neil? Are there companies you don't feel comfortable writing for? That sort of thing.

I was wondering the same thing. What are your areas of expertise that you'd feel best writing about, Simon and Neil? Are there any time periods or promotions that you wouldn't want to write for, or ones that you'd particularly enjoy writing for?

Are there companies you don't feel comfortable writing for? That sort of thing. While I have more older knowledge and Neil younger, I would give both of us (and Jed) any ideas. Same with any organization. One never knows what will light a creative idea in one (or who knows all) of our heads. But my stronger points are WCW, WWF 1985-2001, World Class, Mid-South/UWF, maybe ECW. But you never know. And right now Neil is doing a story well before 2000 (not at liberty to say what, yet).
