Well, it was a light hearted jab at the long delay since the last story/last time someone said that there was a story coming up.
My apologies for any distress caused by this attempted humor.

And I was kinda expecting Jed to rub off on the new guys, just not this soon. Not sure what that means. If you're referring to number of stories written, Jed asked us for a minimum of 3 a year when the contest was going on. I have done 2 so far, and as I started in May, that fills this years requirement. That being said, there is a good chance my third story will be finished before years out. I've already done most of the research and have an outline for it. Plan on starting writing this week. mlsq and I go back; long-time fan, he's cross-promoted me (and your Freebirds column, Simon -- not sure if you knew that) in his column on 411 a few times. He's just doin' some light-hearted hazing is all. Jed Shaffer ~I've thought of returning the favor and doing something for you on 411, but I don't know what or how.

I reckon there ain't no harm in it. Sure. And maybe pass along word to your editor that if he ever wants a guest for something like Fact or Fiction, or Buy Or Sell, I'd be willing to as well. Jed Shaffer ~As long as I'm not required to do anything, you know, that takes actual WORK. Cause that'd be SO beneath me.

Has anyone suggested the idea of "What if "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase had won the WWF Title Tournament at Wrestlemania 4?"

Has anyone suggested the idea of "What if "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase had won the WWF Title Tournament at Wrestlemania 4?" Then right after he won the belt, Hogan would come out and pummel him, then pose for 5 minutes to close the show, and defeat him at Summerslam.

Has anyone suggested the idea of "What if "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase had won the WWF Title Tournament at Wrestlemania 4?" Yeah and supposedly that was going to happen but Honky Tonk Man refusing to drop the IC strap to Randy Savage changed that. I personally do not believe that story. I don't think Vince would've taken that belligerence from the Honky Tonk Man and Dibiase leaving with the belt triumphantly after all the hoopla would've been a huge downer. In my opinion Dibiase should've gotten a title run (SummerSlam (or right after) to WMV would've worked).

I have now started my third story "What if...Ric Flair had helped Dusty Rhodes against the Andersons after the cage match?"

What if Andre had sold his shot to Ted Dibiase perhaps?

First time poster here with an idea:
What if British Bulldog won the WWF Championship in 1996?
It's my own story I'm building up for the next competition, whenever that is where the double pin in the In Your House Event is negated by Earl Hebner not making the double count in time, giving the win to Bulldog. Michaels has a hissy fit in the back and is injured as a result. From there on in we get an earlier anti-American Hart Foundation, a 1997 dominated by a Vader/Cactus Jack feud and Hogan is forced into early retirement in 1998 after buggering up his leg.
Sound good?

Sound good? Pull the Hogan thing. A WWF event shouldn't cause ripples in WCW, unless it was something preventing someone from signing. In fact I think making up injuries in general, unless it's part of a storyline in your story is in poor taste.

Somewhat similar to the previous suggestion:
What if Owen Hart had won the WWF title from Bret in 1994? (personally, I think the cage match at Summerslam would be a good venue for this to happen)

Well the idea does have different signings going on with at least one major talent from each company going from one to the other. And I reckon there would be implacations in one company if something different happens in another. WWF, rather than scrambling about desperately as in reality would be much sturdier in this story, making both sides change what they were doing. Not sure about the tasteless argument as well as these things do happen by accident as I was planning.

Just one quick question but is there somewhere we can post first drafts/different sections for feedback at all?

I don't think you quite understand how this works. You can post them on the forum wherever you like (except in this thread, this is for RTB discussion), but in case there's any misunderstanding, RTB isn't an open gig. Simon, Neil and I are the grand marshals of the parade. Jed Shaffer ~I don't even know why I used such a bizarre simile. You can tell my brain's drained by that one.

I don't think you quite understand how this works. Almost certainly. I read on the rewriting section of the website that they were decided in a competition and assumed there was a yearly contest to determine which one would be added next. Apologies for the mix up.
