What if Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, and Ric Flair never left the NWA/WCW for the WWF? Am thinking of doing Arn and Tully not leaving in 1988 though probably not next.

Agreed on Hogan/AWA. Very intriguing. That would have changed the course of history as far as mainstream wrestling is concerned. Would be pretty damn hard to write though, unless you watched the AWA religiously back then. I heard someone say that if Hogan gained the AWA title, then that company would basically be in the WWE's position. Anyone reckon that's true? Oh, and here's a link to my current RTB on the site: officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wrestling&action=display&thread=245292

Would be pretty damn hard to write though, unless you watched the AWA religiously back then. I heard someone say that if Hogan gained the AWA title, then that company would basically be in the WWE's position. Anyone reckon that's true? No way. Not a chance. It was Vince's brilliance in cross-promotion that turned Hogan into a household name: going national, pushing closed-circuit TV and syndicated programming(and paying stations to take his programming, too) , the MTV tie-in, toys and marketing ... Hogan may have got his name out there a bit before WWF, but it was WWF that took a molehill and made a mountain out of it. Verne Gagne was stuck in his old-school ways and didn't try to venture out of his designated area until the WWF's territory-buster strategy forced him into desperate survival tactics. If it wasn't Hogan in WWF, it woulda been Piper or Snuka or Muraco or Orndorff or someone else he poached during his national takeover. Vince was dead set to make somebody into a global name, and with his ideas, it coulda been anybody. Jed Shaffer ~Okay, maybe not Greg Valentine.

Although look for a shout out to your least fav RTB Jed in this week's Top 5... Interesting ... I'm starting to sense mounting pressure from the masses regarding that particular story ... Jed Shaffer ~If only I had six months to sit there and tweak it ...

Wha if Sting was the third Outsider as originally planned? It wasn't the original plan, it was the back up in case Hogan pulled Creative Control and decided he didn't want to turn heel. And correct me if I'm wrong Jed, but given that you have two other writers, you DO have 6 months to tweak it, don't you?

I think it is the one story Jed has not posted to the main site, his sucessful WCW Invasion of WWF story. You can, however, read it here: web.archive.org/web/20060304212313/www.insidepulse.com/zoneIndex.php?authorid=57Jed has a script for a similar story, though it involves the real Sting attacking "Macho Man' Randy Savage on the Nitro before War Games.

That's what I'm thinking. Jed has a script for a similar story, though it involves the real Sting attacking "Macho Man' Randy Savage on the Nitro before War Games.[/quote] I have a script for something? Jed Shaffer ~Some ideas, maybe ... as fleshed out as a skeleton ...

Here's another one, on a more serious note, what if Miss Elizabeth turned down Randy Savage's marriage proposal?

I've got one, but it's very niche, I think. I loved Mordecai. I'm a sucker for goth/religious gimmicks. Jed Shaffer ~Plus, dude, the guy was all white. Looked like Colonel Sanders' ghost. What if Mordecai didn't fail? It can be your coming-out-of-retirement story, Jed!

What if Mordecai didn't fail? It can be your coming-out-of-retirement story, Jed! IF, and that's a big if, I come out of retirement, I have the story picked out. Half-written, in fact. Just never bothered to finish it. Jed Shaffer ~I never officially retired. I SEMI-retired. Which means I'm in half a rocking chair, drinking lemon-flavored water.
