I have a long weekend ahead so I was planning on having movie themed nights.
Friday I'm having movie that takes place in the political world (no documentaries)
Saturday I'm having action movies from this century night.
Sunday I'm having kids in sports movie night.
So, how about some recommendations?
Stick to suggestions in fridays option please as you're the only guys I can really ask these things and get good suggestions.

Hmm, other than documentaries the only political movie I can think of off the top of my head would be Milk. As for Saturday and Sunday I'm not sure

I don't know how many you are planning to watch each night, so I'll go with three.
Friday: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Candidate, All the Presidents Men
Saturday: The Bourne Trilogy is probably the definitive action series so far this century. If you want to mix it up though, I'd say Kung Fu Hustle, Casino Royale, and Star Trek
Sunday: Sandlot, The Mighty Ducks and The Bad News Bears. Beyond these three, I can't even really think of any good ones.

Saturday - Dead or Alive (Miike Takashi). I think that's this century. best opening 5 minutes of movie ever.

Saturday - Dead or Alive (Miike Takashi). I think that's this century. best opening 5 minutes of movie ever. 1999 Though the IMDB description includes this, emphasis mine. "WARNING: This motion picture contains explicit portrayals of violence; sex; violent sex; sexual violence; clowns and violent scenes of violent excess, which are definitely not suitable for all audiences. "

The Contender and JFK are great political films. The Parallax View is also worth a watch. Nixon is also good but it's LONG and dense if you don't know your history. I can't recommend any action movies and kids, sports films because I'm not that familiar with them.

Friday - W., Charlie Wilson's War, Milk, Manchurian Candidate.
Those are the best political movies I can think of. I'm not the biggest fan of movies about politics...

I say change your Sunday gimmick. "Kids sports movies" is a really narrow genre with VERY few good films.
I recommend a "Other movies by famous directors" - Steven Spielberg's "Duel", George Lucas "THX-1138" or "American Graffiti, Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon", Scorsese's "Mean Streets" or "The King of Comedy." That sort of thing.
OR
Do a "casting against type" night -
Boys From Brazil starring Gregory Peck as Nazi scientist Josef Mengele (also stars Lawrence Olivier as a Nazi hunter. Can't go wrong with those two in a film. Also Steve Guttenberg in an early role)
Stardust, with Robert DeNiro in a very different cameo role for him. I won't spoil it though, better to see it for yourself.
Ordinairy People featuring Mary Tyler Moore as a bitchy, controlling mother
Road To Perdition, with Tom Hanks as a hitman
Hell, Stark Trek (2009) with John Cho from Harold and Kumar as Zulu, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy and Eric Bana as the villain
