MGH, there's a certain defensive lineman at Nebraska that I would put ahead of Cobb. I'm not a Nebraska fan, but Jared Crick is a f***ing beast. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him get a Heisman invite at the the end of the season. Division 1: Ohio State, Penn State, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Wisconsin Division 2: Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan State Ohio State/Michigan will still be played every year as a "permanent rival" between divisions, which each team will have. I'm not liking this. The ONLY reason they're splitting up Michigan and OSU is the possibility that they could play again in the championship game (which probably won't happen for a few years, if ever). And while the rivalry has been very lopsided in recent years, I think the idea of them meeting twice in one season takes away from the rivalry. But how can you hate it it's Ohio State vs Michigan, the greatest rivalry in all of college sports? The possibility of them playing twice is going to be awesome. There's no other rivalry that can match it. Granted you have rivalries like Oklahoma vs Texas, Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State, Texas vs Texas A&M, KU vs Mizzou, Alabama vs Auburn, Florida vs Georgia, and when Nebraska was in the Big 12 Nebraska vs Colorado and Nebraska vs Mizzou all do well with both teams playing in the same division of the same conference. But this is Ohio State vs Michigan. I know it may be wrong as a college football fan, but I really don't care about Ohio State vs Michigan. It got really bad a couple of years ago when both were undefeated going into the game, and people were saying Michigan deserved a rematch for the National Title. I really don't care about either team.

Today's the day. Ohio State, Miami (FL), USC and Pitt are all in action tonight, and the season starts with... South Carolina vs. Southern Mississippi. Potential banana skin?

So, apparently, Boise St. has turned heel now.I don't understand the hate of Boise State. Yes, they play in a weak conference. Big deal. You could say the same for the Big Ten and the Big XII right now. Other than a handful of teams, the rest of them suck. They won't get many quality wins. Quality shouldn't have anything to do with it. Other than the fact that teams play I-AA teams that they shouldn't (Florida, Bama, and yes, even my beloved Huskers do it). Play Division I-A teams only. I hope they go undefeated, so that they'll stay near the top, and will have to get a look at the BCS Title game. If Kentucky can't go to the title game (lol) then yeah, Boise is who I want to see there the most. For every "I know they'd lose this" and "I just know they'd fail if..." argument thrown out, all they've done is prove themselves when given the chance every last single time. Just once, hopefully this year, I want them to go 13-0 and crash the BCS title game party. If they go and get blitzed by 30, then game over. This is the most talented team of this level there is to offer. If they win, just like they have against Oregon, Oklahoma, and Utah did against Alabama, then I'd hope some people will finally give them their due that they deserve in my opinion already. But likely, it'll be a half assed "they still don't deserve it!!!" or "the other team didn't take them seriously and didn't care" and rob them of their moment yet again. I have always been of the opinion that they don't "belong" but they deserve to go. I still think that. But if they go to a NC game and win, and I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.

Lets see how he does this year. As for a DL getting a Heisman invite... If its anyone...its this man.

So. Miss. is getting humbled the old-country way. South Carolina looks like it's gonna be a terror to deal with this season.

I went to Central Michigan's home opener tonight against Hampton. And it seemed pretty obvious that Central has their work cut out for them this year. They are alright, just not as good as they were in years past. They led 16-0 six minutes in, and ended up winning 33-0. I left at halftime when it was 23-0, just because I knew it was basically over. Ryan Radcliffe, who is taking over for LeFevour, showed glimpses that he could be great, but I guess we'll see as time goes on.
