400 per tv appearance, usually for like 4 min matches on a 4 day per month job isnt that bad They are independent contractors who pay both sides of their income taxes. Look at your most recent pay stub. FICA, Medicare, federal withholding. Okay, now double it. That's what they have to pay, filing quarterly. The issue of additional costs (lodging, food, car rental, etc.) has been handled by others. Bischoff's old plan of doing one set of TV tapings per month rather than weekly fly-ins will save the talent quite a bit of money, granted. They don't really have 25 days, though. Especially the female talent, for whom there is a smaller market. Even in a very large market like Chicago, independents largely run only on Friday through Sunday. A handful may try to run other nights, but they generally can't draw, at least during the school year. So the options really are closer to 9 or 10 days, since most talents won't want to work the weekend before PPV (injury risk on an indie, plus travel). For a talent like Awesome Kong, her most profitable non-TNA bookings would be in Japan. Assuming that they keep the month's TV tapings to the M-Th following a Sunday PPV, she could only accept such bookings if she (a) was free from TNA house shows (give Bisch some time and it'll be so) and (b) is lucky enough to have a tour that fits the time frame. No argument there.

Brutus Magnus gets paid? Why? Naw, see, that's a misprint. That's how much he pays them to keep him around.

That is pretty pathetic, especially since the Knockouts are big draws for the company, at times, bigger then some of the males. Logically, they should be some of the higher paid people on the roster due to that fact. That kind of pay, for a company like TNA, is completely pathetic. I say the women do some sort of strike, or something for that they can get better pay. I think it bugs me because I just got a pay raise today, due to the fact I completely level 2 at my scaffolding school, and I'm now a third year apprentice. I did it at the Carpenter's Union Hall in Edmonton. And there, you get paid based on your skill level and equal pay for everyone based on your skill level. And, while there are some journeyman who don't deserve that pay, that's one problem that the union has sometimes. However, I can bet good money that Taylor Wilde is a lot better then Brian Knobbs, but I bet that Knobbs is paid more. That's pathetic. Taylor Wilde, and the other knockouts bring more to the table, they bring ratings to the table, and the fact that they aren't getting their proper pay is a joke. TNA should be ashamed of themselves. I mean, yeah, WWE just uses them as objects (well, Serena not as much though, who I love by the way) but at least they get their proper pay. These girls are taking harder bumps then the WWE girls, yet they get paid chicken feed in comparison. That is bulls***. You make an exellent point. It brings me back to my point about how even though a woman is running things it's still a boys club. I have lost so much respect for Dixie Carter over the past few months it's not funny. I respect strong women and she is not one as much as she'd probably like to think so. Especially considering how someone in another thread was talking about how Hulk Hogan and Bubba The Love Sploodge were making light of Awesome Kong's menstral cycle on the radio. I was raised (under threat of certain harm) to believe that that was a no fly zone so it disgusts me that Dixie let someone who is representing her company do that publicly especially so soon after his last outburst.

$400 per appearance on what should be considered a major television show is actually pretty weak. I'm certain actors, even relative newcomers, who appear on television shows like Supernatural or Smallville or even Couger Town make more than that. Yes, there's the "Knockouts put in 4 minutes of airtime, while they do 20-50" argument, but the actors also aren't tearing up their bodies to do their jobs.
And let's just switch gears and compare it to professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, and so on. I'm positive they make much more than $200-400 per game.
On the flipside, a key statement was that TNA allows its employees to still take independent bookings, and their TV exposure gives them the ability to book themselves for a higher fee. This is where TNA can argue that, although they don't offer a very high salary, they're giving their talent exposure and the freedom to market themselves on their own.
I suppose the most telling comparison will be when we can set up the salary of someone like AJ Styles with the KO division's top performer. Or how the average KO's payrate compares with the average male performer. I have a bunch there'd be a discrepency.

26K$ per year!? That's insane considering the risks they take, travel expences etc. Heck! I earn roughly 50% more per year doing a crappy job in the timber industry The one thing I don't see as a big of a deal is the wardrobe costs, seeing as they usually dress as little as possible.

If this is true then that is really crappy that the Knockouts are paid so low.
Also if it's true I don't it's fair that Tara and Christy make more then the other women just because they had runs in the WWE.

If Gail Kim was not getting much, even with her background, I doubt Hemme and Tara would.

26 grand is only slightly more than I make in my crappy entry level job in TV. Wow. And if they get hurt, forget it. I now would not blame any of them for seeking out the greener pasteurs of WWE.

This is one of the reasons why TNA will never be able to fully compete with WWE. I can only imagine what they'd be doing if they had the money Ted Turner did. *waiting for Eric Bischoff money jokes* I'm just hoping the move to Mondays permanently is true because their Thursday taped shows makes it feel so low budgety and boring.

.......I'm just hoping the move to Mondays permanently is true because their Thursday taped shows makes it feel so low budgety and boring. This, the production values are just so damn low. TNA Impact, at times, reminds me of a local cable TV Bingo Show that I worked on just out of high school that had a zero dollar production budget.

It also doesn't help when they're not being booked like poor Daffney especially after all she's done for the company. Taken from goth-goddess.org/

Taken from goth-goddess.org/To be fair, I think she is better off not being used and letting the partnership with Raven and Stevie being forgotten. She was too much of a jobber with them and, Raven and Stevie aren't likely to be used much under Bischoff. Give her some time to rest and bring her back fresh.

Of course, because what possible use could you have for popular, recognisable wrestlers who are great talkers and characters?
