Wow, a .11 drop after the Hall and Nash segment, I guess Hall and Pac should be losing Sunday since they aren't really good at keeping viewers on the show

Since their segments get better ratings, maybe TNA should just hire more women and make Impact a show centered on the Knockouts division.

So people still prefer the convoluted, repetitious, force-fed crap from up north? I guess it's true, wrestling fans ARE a bunch of dumb hicks. or Tough one.

It's a sad day for wrestling when two amazing, fresh talents like A.J. Styles and Jeff Hardy get beat in the ratings by an 85 year old non-wrestler and a guy who's one botched kick away from a persistent vegetative state.
When you take into account it was by nearly 5x the viewers, it enough to cause a tear to shed.

What was non-sensical? I think people unfairly put that label on things just because they dont like it. To me, everything made sense. Was it all excuted well? No. But I think it all made sense as the next step of storylines. I dont mean to single you out or anything, but I see a lot of people call things they dont like non-sensical when to me, they make total sense, even if they were bad. - Beer Money's heel turn (We don't like the fans? Come on, put a bit of effort in) - Nasty Boys in an opening match (or any match) in 2010, the random returns of Spike and Jesse Neal, Jimmy Hart somehow being an "advantage" as a wrestler... - Shaving Bischoff with no build whatsoever. They go to all the trouble of making him into a dislikeable character, and have him get a pretty significant comeuppance without actually flagging it as something for people to watch, or having any tension as to whether it may or may not happen. - The Nash v Hall match was just inexplicable, especially the ending. - Anything said by Hardy or Moore - The absence of any mention of Joe (correct me if I'm wrong, but I certainly don't remember one). That all makes total sense? Perhaps I am just confusing cringeworthy with non-sensical, but I certainly couldn't understand what they were trying to do with most of it.

Build-up for Wrestlemania 26 or a market-research conference for a new brand of adult diapers? You be the judge.

His matches have been paint by the numbers for years now, in both TNA and WWE.

That all makes total sense? Perhaps I am just confusing cringeworthy with non-sensical, but I certainly couldn't understand what they were trying to do with most of it. Beer Money explained it in their promo. They had been on TV like twice since Hogan and Bischoff came in, so they took the chance to do Bisch's dirty work when opportunity arose. The crowd comment wasnt anything like that, either. It was "They say that nice guys finish last. We're sick and tired of being nice guys! We're sick and tired of catering to these stupid fans! From now on, its all about Beer Money... makin cash, and getting trashed!" I dont want to argue anything about the Nasties, because I dont want to be in any way affiliated with any type of defense for their being on the show at all, so Ill just skip that one. I think the Foley/Bisch deal made sense, yea. Bisch has been pushing and pushing Mick for two months now, so when Bischoff decides to finally clean him up like he's been talking about for a while now, Foley turns the tide on him. I think that was the blowoff to the whole Bisch/Foley one on one backstage segments deal, and it will now move to perhaps a championship carrying Beer Money once again doing Bisch's dirty work and feuding with Jarrett and Foley. Just a guess, though, since Beer Money has been involved with Jarrett in recent weeks. Nash was stabbed in the back by lifelong friends, and wants them in the ring. Hall and Pac have made it clear that theyre in it to get paid. Nash's character has a history of being about money and having the cash. So Nash uses the cash he has to get his backstabbing former friend in the ring for five minutes. I think that makes total sense. Was it a good match? God no, but the story made sense. The ending was fine too, imo. Waltman comes in and beats Nash up, and Hall steals the money even though he didnt go the full 5 mins. Total heel move. To me, thats not bad storytelling. Hardy and Moore are weird as hell, Ill agree with that. Yea, there was no Joe mention. I have no idea what its building to, but until we see what it is, I wont argue for or against it. They could very well be neglecting to mention him on purpose, who knows.

I am not biased toward either company or show but let's keep it real. You cannot criticize the WWE in any single way about having older performers on the show when TNA's air time was taken up by Flair, Hogan, The Nasty Boys with Jimmy Hart, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, X Pac and Mick Foley.
I will repeat: Ric Flair - Age 61 Hulk Hogan - Age 56 The Nasty Boys - Ages 45 each Jimmy Hart - Who cares? Kevin Nash - Age 50 Scott Hall - Age 51 X Pac - Age 37 Mick Foley Age 44
Wanna know the other difference? Austin did not wrestle on the show, nor did Bret or Vince. They are having one special attraction match at WM. That's all.
Everyone on that list above, STILL WRESTLES on TNA programming.

Even easier choice when you consider that Nasty Boys Pic is roughly 20 years old. They look downright healthy in that picture. Austin at least *doesnt* look like a complete mess

The thing is, that's a pic of The Nastys in their prime, and they still look like fat slobs.

They had a one off match for a big show. It doesnt look like theyll be doing it again. Hall and Waltman too (unless you count the 1 min match Waltman had against EY). And Jimmy Hart was only for that one match as well, and he never did anything til the end. I see it as just as much of an overhyped, overcriticized bit as the people who bitch about Vince vs Bret. My opinion has always been... who gives a s*** about age? If they can do a good bit of storytelling, I dont care how old you are. To me, all of the older guys in WWE can still do that. And all of the guys on that list for TNA sans the Nasty Boys can do that as well imo. So... I dont care. I never got the big fuss about age in wrestling.

Guys....just.....just stop with these silly excuses.
You failed. This experiment is a failure. No matter what, Austin (who isnt wrestling by the way) should not have that effect on the opposing product.
There is no.....NO excuse to have lower ratings with the roster you have than NXT (who has a bunch of tv rookies).
Go back to the timeslot you had and wait for yourself to have a better showing before competing with the flagship show.

Jeez this thread seems light hearted and fun
''I Disagree with the fan majority so they must be dumb'' ''Old people suck'' ''Jeff's a druggie,Austin's a wife-beater and AJ can't draw''
Lighten up

Jesus, Austin is the biggest star in the last 15 years and arguably ever, showing up during the WWE's hottest time period against a taped show. That is plenty of reason to have a lower rating. Never mind SpikeTV being happy with TNA, Dixie and crew saying they are in this for the long haul, they might as well close down the entire operation since this 1 week dip means they will never be able to grow.
