Not great, but it's not 0.5. Suppose they feel like they pulled the trigger too quick on the move back to Thursdays?

They knew darn well what they were doing...that 0.5 will look like American Idol ratings compared to what they would've gotten vs. MNF in the fall. Moving back was the right thing...but TNA's image has taken a huge dent.

.8 while a lot better then .5 is still a lot worse than 1.1-1.2. No I think Thursdays are still the better bet.

Against either 2.9 or 3 for Raw depending which site you look at.

Better than a .5, but still the lowest rating for a live Impact yet. Even with an unopposed hour.
I think that more than confirms the move was the right call.

I remember when I first started watching TNA in 2006 and people mocked them for their inability to get above a 1.0 rating.
I never thought it would happen again four years later.
Still not being able to meet a standard set 4 years ago is just sad.

Call out as many crappy angles or characters are you like, but I highly doubt moving days dents their image for more than a week or two.

Monday's for TNA is probably .8 or so on average, while Thursday's for TNA is 1.2-ish. At least that appears to be the trend. Really, if getting 1.2 (or thereabouts) unopposed on Thursday's is better than 0.8 up against the wrestling monopoly, then I don't know what Spike and TNA expect. They were never going to beat Raw. The goal should have been to maintain their Thursday audience on Monday's, which unfortunately they never did, but really, is going from .8 on Monday's to 1.1 on Thursday's really that big of a factor in once again switching nights and further confusing the fanbase? It's not like the difference is 2 million viewers or something.
I would have preferred TNA staying on Monday's, ratings be damned. Continually switching times and nights is annoying and like I said 100 times Thursday is not a good night for wrestling.
The more disturbing trend for wrestling as a whole is Raw's ratings appear to be heading south as well. If they did a 3.0 and Impact did a .8, that's a 3.8 combined rating for the two biggest wrestling shows on the planet. If people don't need more proof that a boom period will never happen again, look no further than that.

, is going from .8 on Monday's to 1.1 on Thursday's really that big of a factor in once again switching nights and further confusing the fanbase? It's not like the difference is 2 million viewers or something. It's just shy of a 25% drop in ratings. Shows get cancelled outright for much smaller drops than that. Had they stayed on Mondays, they'd be competing with not only WWE on Mondays, but soon they'd also be competing with monday night football. And make no mistake -- if they even attempted to stay on mondays, the .5 that they got last week would seem like the holy grail compared to what they'd be drawing come September. I wouldn't go so far as to say "never" happen again, though I will admit one probably isn't on the horizon. Don't forget, the early 90's -- the "New Generation" -- were incredibly abyssmal for wrestling as a whole as well. And after the "New Generation", we got one of the biggest boom periods ever in the industry.

True, but what was Spike expecting going up against Raw? I said many times that TNA maintaining its Thursday audience (1.0+) would have been a success on Monday's. A drop-off was expected up against Raw. Spike and TNA should have had the foresight to expect that and deal with it if it did happen, otherwise they should have just kept the show on Thursday.

A drop-off was expected up against Raw. Spike and TNA should have had the foresight to expect that and deal with it if it did happen, otherwise they should have just kept the show on Thursday. Actually, when you think about it, TNA gave the WWE some very solid information that could easily be used against them (as if the WWE really needed it....but that's not the point.) At the very least, TNA got praised for being able to keep a 1.0+ rating for the past several years, and many have said that that's TNA's core fanbase. Basically, that was the amount of people who would watch TNA. Now, however, that 1+ million people aren't the wrestling fans that would watch TNA. That's 1+ million wrestling fans that would watch TNA but would watch WWE instead if one of the main shows was on at the time. There is a big difference between the two. Right now, WWE could put the final nail in TNA's coffin by moving Smackdown to Thursdays with the same time slot as TNA. If they were to do that, TNA would struggle to hold onto the .8 ratings they're currently getting, and weeks of .5 would become at least somewhat more common. At that point, Spike would almost be better off filling the time slot with yet another re-run of CSI, or whatever cop show they play on that channel. TNA gave Vince all the information he needs, and they'll be extremely lucky if he doesn't go for the jugular.

Against either 2.9 or 3 for Raw depending which site you look at. Well that explains a lot. Whenever Raw does poorly, there is usually a backlash on this board against TNA.
