Can you imagine if there was no internet and this happened? This would have been a LEGIT surprise and people would really be excited to see it, re-hash or not. People love seeing old stars. Nostalgia. As long as it stays to one PPV, it should be okay. If there was no internet, we'd all be watching at home and would have creamed our pants like mark-babies when the ECW guys attacked Abyss. The TNA guys attacking the ECW guys made NO sense...so maybe the angle still would have been kinda "huh?" but still, with no internet, this would have excited a lot more people than it has.

Some of you people disappoint me any little thing TNA does to please you guys, you complain and whine personally I like this idea sure these guys are old and ECW died a long time ago but the build up to it so far has been pretty awesome I marked when I saw the brawl at the end of the show it was cool to see who would be siding with who and im sure this PPV will rock. You understand the internet is for 2 things: complaining and porn. Wrong order

I both hate and love this idea. TNA just does the most random things sometimes that I can't help but be at least a little entertained. Here's hoping they at least pop a decent buyrate with it.

I was very skeptical when I first read about this, but now that I've had time to think about it, I'm a little more hopeful.
First off, the name is kind of cool. It's Hardcore Justice: One Last Stand. It's a play on Hard Justice, but also you could view it as the resurrected ECW not getting a proper send-off, hence they're getting justice by having one last show. The "Last Stand" part is awesome too, and I'm very surprised that WWE didn't call the last ECW on SyFy this.
Second, IF this is truly the last ECW reunion show anyone does, and IF they do it as more of a TNA vs. ECW thing (similar to the ECW vs. WWE theme of ONS 2) then this just might work. It could also serve as a good segueway into the Paul Heyman regime IF he's truly coming on board anytime now. This would be a great way to debut him. These are a lot of big IFs, but I hope they can pull it off.
And just for fun, here's the show I'd book. It assumes that all matches will have ECW style rules:
Monster's Ball Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: RVD vs. Abyss (a former ECW guy who is also TNA champ vs. TNA's most hardcore homegrown star and the number one contender)
X-Division Championship Three Way Dance: Doug Williams vs. Homicide vs. D'Angelo Dinero (the classic ECW elimination style three way dance as opposed to the triple threat style match we usually see in modern wrestling. The current champ vs. a guy who has proven he can get hardcore with the best of them vs. a WWECW guy)
Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy (a WWECW guy vs. a guy who's proven he can be Extreme. It would also be the first time they've wrestled in a while, if ever)
Full Metal Mayhem (TNA's name for TLC) for the TNA Tag Team Titles: MCMG vs. Team 3-D (Team 3D in their signature match type vs the current champs who would be awesome in a ladder match)
Mick Foley, Al Snow, Tommy Dreamer, and Raven vs. Ric Flair, AJ Styles, and Beer Money (TNA vs. ECW in an awesome brawl that could also play off of the Flair/Foley stuff)
Samoa Joe vs. Desmond Wolfe (they have beef from Victory Road, and if they did more of an ROH style match it could be the great "wrestling" match of the mostly hardcore show)
Knockouts title match: Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love (these two need a rematch after the shady situation regarding their last title match. What better way to settle it once and for all than in a match with no dq where there must be a winner and loser regardless of what happens)
Barbed Wire Massacre for the Global Title: Rob Terry vs. Rhino (a glorified squash match to get the show off to a bloody start, give the ECW guys the upper hand from the start, cementing it as "their" night, and getting the belt off Terry)
Post show:
During the next few weeks on Impact we finally get the RVD/Rhino feud that we should have gotten in 2001. It will be very brief, with the two having a unification match for the Global and World titles on free tv, followed by a ppv main event featuring a multi-man match with Abyss, Rhino, RVD, and maybe some others.
After that, ECW is finally dead for good.
So what about you guys? What would you like to see on the show?

For all the surprise and excitement for the angle, though, there would simply still be no disguising how over-the-hill most of the ECW veterans are. Arguably it'd be worse that way, because people will be all hyped and then crushed when they see poor tubby, balding Raven brawling in slo-mo. At least this way, the bar of expectations about what they can do is sufficiently lowered. And you never know, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

I get your point, though I disagree, but I just feel the need to be a dick and mention that if there was no Internet, TNA would have died a long, long time ago.

I have to agree - I watched it this morning on TNA's youtube channel and it just came off very lame. Especially considering Al Snow - who is on ECW's side - reacted with a "WHAT?" when Dixie announced that she invited them. What? No one told Al Snow. The angle fell flat to me. Who are the heels? Who are the faces? TNA has so many storylines that do not reveal the character's motivation that adding another just seems redundant. I hope they are able to salvage this shipwreck.

The thing with Al seems to be an editing miscue... something Kendrick or soemone did to provoke Al and Diamond to help their friends.

I'm so glad TNA is trying to bring the ultra-charismatic, fresh, and proven PPV draw that is Jerry Lynn to face RVD to bring back memories of spotfests from a decade ago.

The problem isn't really just the angle. You have to factor in the people who were in the brawl that was supposed to drum up interest and get things going.
Dreamer, Al Snow, Simon Diamond, Elderly Raven, Stevie Richards(without awesome short shorts) and Rhyno.
I don't wanna be a jerk or anything, but that's not exactly an ECW A-Team. Jerry Lynn vs. RVD? Yeah, that is probably a decent idea. The rest of it sounds no better than the show Francene put on recently.

I finally watched the Brawl at the end of Impact, and I must say that it was pretty bad. Also, Raven will soon look like Axl Rotten.

I was a huge ECW fan back in the day, and I enjoyed the first WWE/ECW One Night Stand ppv. But that was 5 years ago. WWE has since killed any desire I might have had to see an ECW re-hash. If I want to see ECW guys wrestling, I'd put in an old vhs tape of ECW shows (which I do on occasion).
The 90's are gone, its time to move on but I feel like TNA just isn't aware of that fact.

The 'newz' as such is that they've dropped the idea of going with ECW vs TNA, and are just having it ECW-only. Apparently AJ, Joe and Ric Flair aren't booked to appear.
If they expect that to pop a buyrate, they are going to get an almighty shock.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they've more sense than that. Prove me wrong TNA.

They're calling the show "Hardcore Justice"?
It's like they went out of their way to make it sound even more like a gay porn than a wrestling show.

They're calling the show "Hardcore Justice"? It's like they went out of their way to make it sound even more like a gay porn than a wrestling show. TNA: Hardcore Justice "One Night Stand". That right there just sounds like a porno in general. It will be like, Guy 1"Hey dude, what are you watching tonight?" Guy 2 "I'm watching TNA: Hardcore Justice "One Night Stand". Guy 1: "Is that a porno?" Guy 2: "No it's a bunch of guys "wrestling". Guy 1 walks away and doesn't come back.

Pretty sad that TNA has to rely on 45 year old guys who haven't been relevant since 1999 to attempt to get more PPV buys and interest in TNA. Just shows you what kind of state TNA is in right now.
